Day 1475: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: morning traffic
The only morning traffic I encounter on my commute to work is raindrops.
I walk about five blocks to work at Swanson's grocery store in Hoquiam, Wash. In the winters, which really begin in October and last until about May or June, it rains nearly everyday. We have a Mediterranean climate with basically two seasons: winter and summer.
The winter is mild. We rarely get any snow, and the grass stays green all year round. Actually, it often turns brown only in the summer, because that's when we go without rain.
To me, the winter feels like March, because the temps and wind and rain are similar to March weather in Indiana, where I grew up.
Thankfully the every day rain is not always a pour down situation; a lot of times it's just a mist, so I don't get soaked every day on the way to work!
