Contest; My unforgettable memories in my lifetime" || #club5050 (50% to @worldsmile)

A month ago, I never would’ve thought the answer to “What is the most memorable day of your life” would be me describing an event that happened 2 weeks ago when I went out with my friends. A lot has happened in my life and I don’t really know which is the most memorable day on my life but right now, its this day. This day was a mixture of an awesome and tragic experience together. Let me explain.

So it was just 2 weeks ago on 25th October when me and my friends @abdulkahargunu, @desiigner, @zzzinnn and @rhyda decided to meetup and have fun after 3 weeks of being on Second Semester Vacation. We decided we would first go to the pool at a Hotel near us Modern City Hotel first. Then next, we would proceeded to get some food at Oasis also near us. To fund the meetup, we each contributed 3SBD.

We met up at @desiigner’s house and took a cab to Modern City Hotel first. We first traded our SBD for Ghana Cedi and withdrew this amount at a Mobile Money Agents shop on our way to Modern City Hotel.

We got to Modern City about 3minutes after we set off. We got checked in, got some towels and took a bathe in a shower there to get ready for the pool. I taught them and some other people who came there to swim. Now this was where things got sad.

We had too much fun and we did something stupid without thinking. I had an iPhoneX and we started thinking about taking my phone for a ride underwater. Yess you heard that right. We thought about doing it. You know, it appeared harmless because Apple markets the phone so good to be water-resistant 2meters under water for 30minutes so we were thinking, what could go wrong? I mean its been tested by the manufacturers themselves so yeah.

Fast forward, After our first dive with the phone, we took some great pictures and everything seemed to be working fine. Then we took a second one and this was where things got fucked up. The phone started heating up and the screen just turned off. At first I thought it was just a dead battery because the phone had been given me low battery notifications some minutes before that happened. Minutes after this happened, boy was I scared!!! As I should’ve been because what came after was even more tragic.

Of course we were still in the middle of having fun and I couldn’t really properly process what happened until after we left the pool at Mordern City to get some food at Oasis.

It was pretty close to Modern City so we simply walked there. It was on our little walk I started to process fully what happened and what that means. “I threw away my phone worth GHS2,400 (close to $400) because I wanted some pictures under water”. And thoughts like “You could’ve put it in a rubber first before you went under” hit me and I felt so stupid.

At Oasis, my mind kinda gave me a break. I honestly couldn’t think with all the food staring at me. I ate so much food over there than I’d eaten in the previous 2 days combined lol😅. I’m not sure whether I was just eating or offloading my sadness on the food but man I ate. We all did actually. We ate and talked until in the evening around 6pm and we collectively went back to @desiigner’s house where we all left our stuff and we went home afterwards.

The boys agreed I get the balance remaining from the money we contributed so I could fix my phone. @zzzinnn and @rhyda lived far away so they had to leave early. I went to see a phone repairer with @desiigner and @abdulkahargunu. This was where all the sadness and thoughts struck me. When O was on a waiting bench imagining what it’d be like if I didn’t make that dive and thinking about how much I was going to have to spend get the phone fixed. Now what I didn’t know at the time was that the phone was damaged past the point of mo return and I was going to have to trash it.

After leaving the phone at the repairers place for close to an entire week, I was told I eventually will have go trash it or sell it for scrap. I was left with no other option but to buy a new phone.Fortunately on my part, I saved some SBD in my wallet which I used to get myself a new iPhoneX again. This explains the huge cash out I made about 2 weeks ago. Again lucky for me, I had done a power up bigger than the cash out I made earlier the week before all this happened and it didn’t hurt my club5050 score. @desiigner escorted me to get the new phone on Saturday the following week.

I don’t regret going out with my boys that weekend but I sure as hell regretted taking that cursed dive😅. Overall, like I said, the day was a mixture of a perfect happy day with the boyz and a pinch of something gone wrong.
