El sonido de las alarmas interrumpe una larga y apacible noche del espacio. Pronto acude a la sala de control el piloto del vuelo, busca inmediatamente aquello que activó las alarmas y cuando lo encuentra quita el piloto automático tomando el mismo el control del vuelo.
The sound of the alarms interrupts a long and peaceful night of space. Soon the pilot of the flight comes to the control room, immediately looks for what activated the alarms and when he finds it he removes the automatic pilot taking control of the flight.
El piloto toma el intercomunicador y llama.
The pilot takes the intercom and calls.
-¿Capitán? Tenemos una situación.
-Captain? We have a situation.
-¡Enseguida estoy con usted teniente!
-I'll be right with you, Lieutenant!
Pronto entra a la sal de control de la nave el capitán y el piloto le informa que se acaba el combustible por lo que las alarmas se activaron.
Soon the captain enters the control room of the ship and the pilot informs him that the fuel is running out so the alarms are activated.
El capitán toma unos segundo para analizar la situación, se para frente al ventanal de la nave por donde puede verse la inmensidad del basto universo.
The captain takes a few seconds to analyze the situation, he stands in front of the window of the ship where you can see the vastness of the vast universe.
-Teniente.
-Lieutenant.
-¿Si capitán?
-Yes, Captain?
-Fije rumbo hacia el planeta más cercano, allí recargaremos combustible y seguiremos hacia nuestro destino. Volver a La Tierra estando tan lejos sería un suicidio y un completo desperdicio.
-Set a course for the nearest planet, we'll refuel there and continue on to our destination. To return to Earth from so far away would be suicide and a complete waste.
El teniente asiente en señal de estar de acuerdo y responde. –Entendido capitán, fijando rumbo hacia el planeta Ceres, es el más cercano del sistema.
The Lieutenant nods in agreement and responds. -Understood Captain, setting course for the planet Ceres, is the closest in the system.
-Muy bien teniente, infórmeme cuando estemos por llegar. - El capitán se marcha de la sala de control hacía su habitación en la nave.
-Very well Lieutenant, inform me when we are about to arrive. - The Captain leaves the control room towards his room in the ship.
Ese capitán soy yo. Mi nombre es Alex Machado, soy astronauta y capitán de la nave interespacial Canaima Space Frontex, me dedico a buscar planetas que los habitantes de La Tierra puedan habitar, aunque mi verdadera pasión es explorar el universo en busca de nuevos planetas y manifestaciones de vidas que hasta ahora no conocemos.
That captain is me. My name is Alex Machado, I am an astronaut and the captain of the interstellar ship Canaima Space Frontex, I am dedicated to searching for planets that the inhabitants of Earth can inhabit, although my true passion is to explore the universe in search of new planets and manifestations of life that we do not yet know.
Como ven estamos en medio de una misión hacia un planeta lejano llamado Godric A17 donde se sospecha que hay vida extraterrestre, mi misión es averiguar si eso es cierto y realizar los estudios que verifiquen si los humanos podemos habitar dicho planeta en un futuro.
As you can see we are in the middle of a mission to a distant planet called Godric A17 where it is suspected that there is extraterrestrial life. My mission is to find out if this is true and carry out studies that will verify if humans can inhabit this planet in the future.
Habrán notado que tenemos un pequeño problema. ¡Nos quedamos sin combustible en el medio, literalmente, de la nada! Pero tranquilos, no es nada que no esté acostumbrado a resolver. Por eso ahora nos dirigimos a Ceres, un pequeño planeta que la Estación Espacial Internacional utiliza como base de operaciones para sus exploraciones, una vez que recarguemos combustible y algunas provisiones seguiremos nuestro rumbo hacia Godric A17, por lo pronto disfruten del viaje…
You may have noticed that we have a little problem. we ran out of fuel in the middle of nowhere, literally! But don't worry, it's nothing I'm not used to solving. That's why we're now heading for Ceres, a small planet that the International Space Station uses as a base of operations for its explorations. Once we refuel and some supplies, we'll continue our course to Godric A17, so enjoy the trip for now...
-¿Capitán?
-Captain?
-Si, dígame teniente.
-Yes, call me Lieutenant.
-Estamos entrando en el espacio aéreo de Ceres.
-We are entering the airspace of Ceres.
-Entendido teniente, ya estoy con usted.
-Roger that, Lieutenant. I'll be right with you.
Como ven tengo que volver al trabajo, el deber me llama, pero no se preocupen, no me voy por mucho tiempo.
As you see I have to return to work, duty calls, but don't worry, I'm not leaving for long.
-Teniente pida la autorización para aterrizaje de emergencia, dígales que necesitamos recargar combustible.
-Lieutenant ask for the authorization for emergency landing, tell them that we need to refuel.
-Si capitán. ¡Aquí Canaima Space Frontex, solicitando autorización para aterrizaje de emergencia, estamos sin combustible y necesitamos recargar! ¡Repito! Aquí Canaima Space Frontex, solicitando autorización para aterrizaje de emergencia.

-Canaima Space Frontex, aquí base de operaciones de la EEI. No podemos autorizarle porque estamos presentando problemas con las pistas de aterrizajes, no entrada ni salidas de la base. Repito: No podemos autorizar aterrizaje de emergencia. Diríjase a la subestación de la NASA en Saturno para aterrizaje de emergencia.
-Canaima Space Frontex, this is ISS base of operations. We cannot authorize you because we are having problems with the runways, not entering or leaving the base. I repeat: We cannot authorize emergency landing. Go to NASA Saturn substation for emergency landing.
-¡¿Saturno?! ¡Eso está a años luz de aquí! ¿No pueden autorizar el aterrizaje? Ya no tenemos casi combustible.

¡¿No les parece genial mi trabajo?! Cada nueva expedición es súper emocionante, claro con alguno que otros riesgos, como este de quedar varados en el medio del vacío del espacio sin combustible y con las provisiones agotándose.
Don't you think my work is great?! Every new expedition is super exciting, of course with some risks, like this one of getting stuck in the middle of the space void without fuel and with the supplies running out.

Esa historia que acaban de leer es en realidad mi participación para el concurso que nos traen desde la comunidad Stars of Steem. Se trata de compartir una historia creativa sobre qué harías si fueras un astronauta.
That story you just read is actually my entry for the contest brought to us by the Stars of Steem community. It's about sharing a creative story about what you would do if you were an astronaut.
A mi me pareció genial crear una historia ficticia sobre el tema ya que este da para mucho; dejé volar mi imaginación creando una historia con mi toque personal y bueno el resultado es tan bueno que decidí fraccionar la historia ya que sería poco práctico plasmarla toda en un post porque este sería muuuuy largo.
I thought it would be great to create a fictional story about the subject since it is very useful; I let my imagination fly by creating a story with my personal touch and the result is so good that I decided to divide the story since it would be impractical to capture it all in a post because it would be very long.
