Steemit Engagement Challenge - Season 3 / Come and I'll show you how to do it! + the title you want, by @aminasafdar

Hi, greetings to all the members of STARS Of STEEM. This is Amina Safdar writing from Pakistan. Currently I'm gonna make my first ever publication in this community in response to season 3 of weekly engagement challenge.

In today's post, I'm gonna show you my art and craft work. I made a respiratory system model last month for my younger sister for her summer task.

Before i start explaining the steps and procedure to make this model, i want you guys to have an ideal that what exactly respiratory system is?

Our body has a pair of lungs which are involve in blood cleansing and breathing. Every time you inhale air your lungs expand, when you exhale air your lungs contract. Our breathing process that completes in two steps( inhaling and exhaling) is powered by pouch like organs(lungs) that are located on our chest called Respiratory system.

Now let's make visual appearance of this respiratory system model.

1. Make lungs on cardboard or hard cover

  • First of all take a hard card or cover of any box that you can cut easily with a scissor in a square shape.

  • I did the same and wrapped it completely by a yellow chart paper, you can take any color you fancy.

  • Then draw shape of lungs on hard card and cut it down as i have made them in the pictures shown below.

  • After that take a white chart and draw shape of lungs on that and cut it down. You need to wrap this white chart on the hard covered lungs you've just made.

  • Now outline these lungs with black marker and paste them on the square shaped hard card using glue stick.

2. Making Windpipe

what is windpipe?

Windpipe is the pipe in our mouth that takes in and out air called trachea

  • Now take a white straw and bend it from its center like shown in the picture. Now trim it a bit from the center like this. In the picture shown below you can see that only one side is cut down slightly.

  • Now take another straw of medium size and insert that in the trimmed part of the center of the former straw. Like this.

  • Now hold the one side of the pipe in which we inserted the new straw, after that take a ballon and wrap it up on the one side like shown in the picture.

  • Now fix it using scotch tape. Do this on the other side of the ballon as well. Your final windpipe will look like this.

3.Pasting windpipe on the lungs

  • Now use glue stick or scotch tape to fix this windpipe on the model of lungs. Do it as shown in the pictures.

  • Draw tiny vessels of the lungs which are called blood vessels that contains blood which our lungs purify.

  • Cut down shape of our lips, color them in red, and paste that on the top of windpipe.

step 2

Here we go. Our model is done now

How to use this model.

This model is made to show you guys how our breathing impacts our lungs. You can use this straw to inhale the air in the ballons(that's how our lungs expand when we breath in), then draw the air out of the ballon (that's how our lungs contract when we breath out).

I loved this idea, to show the functioning of our respiratory system.

You have explained to us the most important functions of the lungs and trachea, and what happens in them when we breathe.

Your idea is very clever.

Thank you @yolvijrm for your kind words:)

Fuiste bastante creativo al realizar este proyecto, que ayuda a entender de manera práctica y muy didáctica el proceso de respiración, la inhalación y exhalación, los materiales que usaste son muy asequibles y el paso a paso bien detallado.
