Blockchain technology has proved itself as a transformative force affecting different industries and possessing potential to restructure the digital world. Businesses, governments, and individuals have all taken advantages of its decentralized, irreversible, and transparent nature. However, in addition to its transformational power, blockchain technology raises serious security and privacy risks as well.

Talking About the Privacy Concerns...

While the transparency of blockchain transactions is good in terms of accountability, it also presents privacy concerns. On a public blockchain, every transaction is accessible to all network participants, in this way everyone can see the sensitive information about persons or organizations.

Blockchain transactions are linked together to create a permanent record of an individual's financial activity. This can result in privacy violations as well. Public blockchain addresses can be linked to real-world identities, allowing individuals' transactions to be tracked and in this way, revealing sensitive personal information.

Moreover, the Routing attacks intercept and modify data sent between nodes in the blockchain network, allowing attackers to steal funds or disrupt transaction validation, etc.

How Blockchain Technology Overcome These Concerns?

There are so many unique techniques and methods that the blockchain technology has been implementing to overcome the issues regarding the security and privacy. Some of them are listed below.

• The first thing is that the Consensus Algorithms, like as Proof-of-Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS), make 51% attacks very expensive, boosting the network's resistance to bad doers.

• Secondly, the Reputation systems offer trust scores to nodes based on their previous conduct, lowering the impact of Sybil attacks by reducing the influence of malevolent nodes.

• Zero-knowledge proofs allow for transaction verification without revealing the underlying information, hence improving transaction privacy.

• Another technique which is used in this regard is the Ring signatures. They conceal the sender's identity by hiding the transaction among a number of participants, hence increasing transaction anonymity and privacy.
