GAR BOIL? - Amazing, Delicious "Trash Fish"
This was so delicious!
I've been meaning to do this experiment for a while now. Many times seafood will be boiled in a spicy seasoning mix, which imparts some excellent flavor into it. After giving up on eating things like shrimp, crawfish, crabs and others, we haven't really tasted anything like it. My idea was to see if boiled gar would produce something spicy and delicious, and I'm glad that I tried it!
This experiment was a success, and everyone came running back for more. For some reason gar are considered a "trash fish" by many, and lots of folks just toss them on the shore to die when they catch them. Fortunately, we know better and enjoy eating this amazing, delicious fish. In fact, it's our top target species right now. Enjoy the show!
