Classical Russian Salad. Step by Step recipe with Tips

Today we are going to cook Russian Salad that we call Olivier. Normally, we eat it on new year eve or some festivity but today's recipe is special for SteemFoods❤

Cooking Time: 30 minutes ~ 45 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients:

  • boiled potatoes - 7 pcs. middle
  • carrots - 1 -2 pc.
  • boiled eggs - 7 pcs.
  • ham - 300 g
  • pickled cucumbers (fresh) - 1 jar middle
  • canned green peas - 1 can (200 g)
  • mayonnaise - 200-300 g ( to your liking)
  • onion - 1pc
  • salt, black pepper

Step 1

Boil carrot and potatoes. Dip potatoes and carrots in lightly salted water. Cook until tender (about half an hour).

Boil eggs and cook for 7-10 minutes.

Cut eggs, potatoes, onion, ham , carrots into small cubes of equal size.

Pour peas into the chopped ingredients (drain the water from it), mix with mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Tips

  1. You can substitute ham with chicken breast, boiled beef, or omit meat in case you are allergic
  2. You can cook without adding onion
  3. You can improve taste by cooking homemade mayonnaise
  4. You can not long store this salad so cook small portions
  5. You can add fresh cucumber or apple
  6. You can use yogurt in stead of mayonnaise
