Until I discovered cooking, I was never really interested in anything.

This is my first post in this wonderful steemfood community, Cooking is an art, when I was a kid I used to help my mother in the kitchen, so when I was growing up I want to try this art. But I am not interested from the begening after I moved to India. I have to learn cooking for survive here ,it is a great hobby nowadays people are preparing the various type of foods using the recipes which publish on the internet. So they used to share those things on social media websites, I think for steemit users steemfood community is the best place to share their knowledge and experience about food.

Today I am going to share one of my memorable cooking experiences, last February before this pandemic began we went picnic to western ghat one of the beautiful places called savanalu.it is a picturesque place and we are planning to spend the whole day in this place so our next problem raised so it’s about food so finally, for a change, everybody agreed to prepare food from the place itself. so we prepared rice from the hostel and we reached the place around 10.00 am and our first task is preparing a place to cook so we used some stones and arrange it as a pod which able to hold the pan so after we find some firewood from the area and able to make some cooker for cooking. after we start the operation of cooking so we carried pan and other cooking equipment with us, So the place is beside the river and covered with large trees. as we planned we prepared chicken devilled, parippu curry (Dhal curry).

parippu curry (Dhal Curry)

Ingredients: (for 500g Dhal)
Masoor Dhal 500g
Turmeric powder (2TSP)
Sliced Onion
Tomato chopped
green chili sliced,
Coconut milk (300ml)
Salt, Chilli powder, turmeric powder, Water

First, wash dhal in about 2 or 3 changes of water, and then boil the dhal with salt, chili powder and turmeric powder after 10 min coconut milk is added, and simmer for 3 min after that pan is removed. After taking another pan and put some oil into the pan and keep the pan for 5 min and chili slices and online and chili and curry leaves are added to the oil and fry it for almost 3 min and curry which prepare before is pour into the pan and keep for 2 min in the low heat.

Chicken Devilled

Ingredients: (1kg chicken)
Chicken (1kg)
Onion 200g
Green chili sliced
Capsicum
Soya sauce, Chilli sauce, Tomato sauce
Coconut oil

First fry the chicken pieces in the deep oil, after chicken pieces are got fried remove from the pan then sliced onion, green chili, capsicum added to the oil and fry after salt chili powder is added to it and chicken pieces are added to the mixture and sauce are added as per the taste.

So this is a quick recipe you can try at your picnic, cooking in a wild area is a wonderful thing and you never forget those memories, so wherever you traveled make sure that you have to dispose the garbage properly so don’t throw the things hear and there and keep the beauty of the place as it is.
