Traditional Way of Cooking Vegetables with Coconut Milk by @antonette
Good day to all steemit friends ! Today I'm going to share to you all the old style and traditional way of cooking Vegetables with coconut milk.
These vegetables are freshly harvested from our garden and some spices are bought at the market.
This morning I went to the market to buy some spices such as garlic, ginger, tomatoe , onions and coconut.
After I harvest the fresh vegetable in the garden such as camote tops, squash, alugbati we began to prepare cooking the vegetable.
Also, we need to fry the dried fish for vegetables as toppings, and it will add more taste to our vegetables.
To start cooking we need to chop all the spices and prepare the pan.
First Im going to grate the coconut using the old coconut grater by not using the electric coconut grater. Usually some are using the instant coconut milk from the market and grocery stores.
We are not going to use a electric stove or gas stove to cook but we are going to use the old style of cooking using the firewood or we call it in our country as dirty kitchen.
To start cooking we need to chop all the spicies and prepare the pan to start the saute.
Procedures to cook :
1.heat the pan and add a little amount of cooking oil.
2.Saute the spices like onions, garlic and add ginger and red pepper.
3.After the spices when it turns to brown add the vegetables such as squash and root crops vegetable and wait until it tenders and add some seasonings such as salt, ajinomoto and magic sarap.
4.Pour the coconut milk till it boils and add a little water and mix
5.After the vegetable is tender and coconut milk boils now you can add the leafy vegetables and in a few minutes add the fried dried fish and its done and ready to serve.
Thank you for reading my post and happy eating :)
