A tough life
It's not easy being a banana. You start of life chilling on a tree, catching a few rays and budding into a baby banana with your banana brothers and sisters!
Your tan is coming along nicely now, your green skin is about to start turning yellow. Ah, here comes the farmer, it must be more sunscreen (read fertiliser)
Woah, he's never used a machete to administer the sun cream before. Boom, bang, boosch and I'm inside a banana box. Planes, trains and automobiles later and here I am on the Supermarket shelf in Tesco.
It's like a fashion show at Tesco with the yellowest and ripest looking bananas the first to find a home.
I wonder where they'll be planted when their new owner brings them home?
Poor banana doesn't realise that he will some day end up as a banana or banana pancakes perhaps.
At last his day comes and he ends up in my basket with all manner of groceries of all shapes and sizes.
I'm growing old now and my skin is turning brown thinks little banana. Somehow I've made it to old age, unlike most of my friends who were cut short at their yellow zenith of ripeness.
A few days later and my skin is even browner and I'm now attracting a certain glance from my owner like he's waiting for something....
Ok, enough personification of my bananas 😁🤣🤣
It's funny now though, as soon as I see bananas losing that fresh ripe look and developing little brown spots, i immediately start thinking of delicous banana bread with a big auld mug of tea!
