The Bright of the Night - Original Photography & Poetry

I remember standing on the balcony of a one storey building to capture this image. There wasn't any special effect on the phone camera used, it was just a simple photograph. However, scrolling through my photo gallery got me stucked again reflecting on this beautiful images.

The pictures were taken at dusk, precisely about 7:00pm at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria using my Infinix Hot 7 smartphone with 13MP back camera. The first shot below was not as clear and I decided to take a second (above).

Many would tag the picture as a beautifully captured sunset but I saw something different. For me, it wasn't just a sunset, but a light that refused to be hid in darkness. I call it "the Bright of the Night".

No amount of covering can extinguish light except it loses connection from it's source. Even as the thickest of clouds can't hide the sun. The sun luminates via the moon and stars in the dark.

Darkness has no English meaning except that it is the absence of the light. This shows the efficacy of Light in life and how important beings that carry light are.

Though light can be bushelled or shaded, the resultant effect is a beautiful radiance as pictured in a sunset. This is only for a time.

Life truly revolves around light and under the ambience of light is energy dissipated. Darkness is full of dizziness and worklessness.

Light gives a new definition to vision and this is the catalyst to the recognition of beauty. Beauty is said to lie in the eyes of the beholder but if what good would the eye be without light?

Everything is revealed by light and life seems to be meaningless and undefined in th absence of light. Essence of found where light is.

Wisdom is principal but the depths of wisdom can only be revealed where light is either on the foresight, hindsight or insight.

Light, irrespective of shade is the bright of the night. Even the rest of the night is never succoring in the absence of the light.

Be the light and shine; for light is in everything living. The world needs the light to be a place of abode.

A beautiful smile today can be as illuminating as a bright light in a dark night to a heart that is darkened by grief, fear and pain.
