Writing is a delicate and complicated task that is more difficult than spoken expression because it is less spontaneous and because it lacks the expressive resources that accompany spoken language. This is so, because when writing we only have linguistic means and this forces us to put into play all our knowledge of the language and apply them correctly.

It is for this reason that writing needs a high level of coordination to develop it since few movements to which the child's hand is trained are more difficult and we must be clear that in no other example of manual training is the lack of so evident efficiency so we must also keep in mind that this learning must be applied at the right time so that the child can assimilate it in the best way.

Many parents worry when their children do not write correctly and the most worrying thing is that they worry more when they do it with an "ugly" letter because often as teachers we hear parents say "I see them and I want them to understand the letter of my children "but the important thing about it is that they learn because writing is not easy and the important thing about it is not that the child has an" ugly "letter but that the writing is understandable.

Writing is very important in people's learning and we know that correct spelling is also of utmost importance since it is a criterion that is established as a standard for their good understanding, which is often arbitrarily mistreated due to carelessness, ignorance or lightness.

and obviously we teachers are also concerned when we don't find a good spelling in our students Similarly, the use of punctuation marks is vital, as it helps us to correctly use the words in the written language so that they are properly interpreted based on their structure and their combination

In this order of ideas, it is clear that the good management of writing can be available to anyone who wants to and it says a lot about our written communication skills, their level of education, reading and knowledge, but what that if we must be clear is that we should not worry if the calligraphy of our students are ugly because we have seen many teachers also worried about this situation in their students as well as their parents and ultimately it should not be worrying since it is rather a tremendous benefit having ugly handwriting...

It is obvious that children who initially begin to write begin to develop their motor skills with figures that are a little understandable but then gradually identify themselves.

In this order of ideas and according to the experiences I have had as a teacher in basic education, I can say that there are many parents who when their children begin to write, what worries them is that they have an ugly letter. However, there are studies that show that children who have "ugly" letters have amazing benefits because something special happens in their brain.

¿What are those benefits?
It is very interesting what happens in the brains of children who have ugly calligraphy, since it has been scientifically demonstrated that they have great mental agility.
There are several studies that affirm that people who have ugly handwriting have a higher IQ, the reason is very simple: their brain works faster than their hands.

These investigations have been demonstrated through studies that were collected by 105 teachers from the worcester school (Massachusetts) where each teacher sent 4 models of representative texts of their students based on 4 categories:
_ Children with better calligraphy
_The children with the worst calligraphy
_ Students with high mental abilities
_ Students with low mental abilities.

The most relevant aspect of this study is that it showed that having ugly handwriting is synonymous with having quick and more critical thinking and we teachers know the importance of having agile and critical thinking for the development of student learning since this implies:
The ability to modify your perceptual organization, the course of your thinking or your behavior to adapt to the changing needs of the environment at all times.

Finally, I want to point out that if you are one of those parents who have worried many times about their son's calligraphy or you are that teacher who mortifies his students' ugly calligraphies, this should not be a problem as long as the student correctly handles spelling and its elements that involve writing correctly.
I confess to you that throughout my educational career my best students, that is to say with high mental agility, have had ugly letters
