DIGGING FRESH EGGS IN THE GARDEN

in GEMS4 years ago

It's not what you think!

We didn't even plant these. In fact, at the moment we are suspecting that a lizard or a snake laid these eggs in the garden. While working the soil and harvest/replanting crops, we noticed a number of these eggs buried just beneath the surface of the soil. We've removed them and placed them in a safe place for incubation, and are eagerly looking forward to see who hatches out.

Have you ever found reptile eggs buried in your garden? Have you ever watched wild lizards or snakes hatch? Sometimes mama lizards will stay with the eggs, so perhaps these are snakes. We've already hatched out wild Rough Green Snakes and Black Rat Snakes, so we'll see what happens this time. Here's a few more photos. Enjoy!

Until next time…

That's pretty cool. I haven't seen that before. Are they soft or rigid shelled?

I am also curious to see what it is... hoping you post it once it's hatched.

I have seen lizard's eggs once , but have not seen that of a snake,

I hope to see it and know how it hatches

When we lived in Hawaii, we found gecko eggs in a potted plant once. Could have been a chameleon but geckos were more common.
