My Neighborhood Watch #58 - Reporting Events Around us

Greetings friends of Steemit and Steem4Nigeria

It's always exciting to make post in a community like Steem4Nigeria. Before I start I would like to invite two fellow Steemians @crismenia and @eveetim to participate in the contest.

Yesterday financial budget was announced by Finance ministry of central government of India. It has reduced the import duty on gold by 9% as a result of that gold price has reduced by INR 3250 (100 Steem). It was a great relief for both buyers and sellers in advent of festival season.

There was also an administrative meeting between police and Durga Puja committee about the crowd and traffic control during Puja in Kolkata in presence of honourable chief minister of our state. She also announced the donation to clubs to be INR 85000 for Puja in this year and in the year 2025 it will be INR100000. Total budget for the purpose is 265 crores (32 million US dollar).

This year's Durga Puja will be held from October 8 to 13. There are 43000 Puja held by club committees in West Bengal and 2793 Puja organised by club committees in Kolkata. Clubs have additional budget.

It's already the city has engulfed with the fever of Durga Puja. Clubs have already started pandal installation (Mandap temporary stage for godess Durga to appear for worship) and decoration with the mast celebration. One of the club in our locality had function for the whole day on last Sunday.

The above Puja committee have a budget of 0,5 million US dollar. There were many artists and others club secretary to commemorate previous years story. Here are some photos of pandal hopping of previous years.

There is another club who have started the fabrication of pandal and stage in the beginning of the month and progressed a lots . This is their 80 years of celebration.

There are about three more clubs in and around my locality who might be starting there installation very soon. These are quite big budget Puja.

In my childhood I was staying very close to kumartuti (Kumar means artisan and tuli means brush) that is the main hub of the city where clay, fiber and silicon deities are made for throughout the world.
