Dear Nigerians Steemians ❤️ and friends, it's my delight to bring to you the highlight of last Saturday's Meet-Up, together with a fellow country representative of Nigeria in the person of @fredquantum, and our cities q coordinators; @manuelhooks, @simonnwigwe @josepha @starrchris, @solexybaba, etc it was held last Saturday evening at the time and different venues scheduled for it.

The turn-up was overwhelming even with the harsh economic hardship we're facing presently, the high price of fuel and not getting access to our hard-earned cash.

As I stated in the announcement post the meeting was held in person (offline) and virtually (online), we began in person by 4 pm at different locations throughout Nigeria. @manuelhook anchored the meeting here in Uyo City, then the agenda was followed accordingly.

  • Encouraging both old and new steemians to remain active.
  • Explaining engagement challenge to all and the need to take part in it.
  • Power up and club status
  • Steem promotion in our cities
  • Our plans to reactivate Roadshows.
  • Taking advantage of available mentors and keeping up to date.
  • Avoid steeming in isolation, we Steem better by learning from others.
  • Air your concerns and challenges.

I've encouraged both new and old Steemians to remain active, that the Steemit team is having our best interest at heart, that is why they've provided so many SC accounts for Users so that our posts will not payout at 0 cents. They gave preferential treatment to new ones by designating an SC account for them because they don't want newbies to be discouraged, but to enjoy blogging.

I also told them how to make quality and unique posts that are devoid of plagiarism, yes we know nothing is new, but if they're reading a particular topic on the internet, they should ask themselves what new things they can add to what they've read and developed more on that.

Manuelhooks spoke on the benefits of power-ups and club status, that it helps us to grow our account faster, and the more SP we got the more curation reward, he also explained different kinds of the club, 50/50, you have to power up half of your monthly earnings and can transfer out the remaining half.
For club75 one has to divide your total earnings into 4 equal parts and power up 3 parts and transfer 1 part, for example, if you transfer out 25 Steems you need to power up 75 Steems to be in club75 and the accounting period is two months. Lastly, club100 needs to power up all his/her earnings conservatively for months, without withdrawing a dime, except for charity donations or payment for contest rewards. He encouraged all to join a higher club.

Then, I spoke on the need for everyone to support the Engagement Challenge Contests, commenting meaningfully on fellow contestants' posts, that it will help them to be visible and stand a chance of getting votes from big SC accounts, that they are free to contact me if they don't understand any, so that I can explain for them.

I also spoke on the need for them to protect their accounts, by keeping their keys safe and not clicking on any phishing links of any sort. That some will promise free Steems, I've made them understand that nothing is for free, as such should be guided.

It was time to connect with everyone online, we were so excited to see one another. Goodness! How I like the feeling!! We, first of all, introduce ourselves, and shared our experiences.

our smiling faces

Floor was opened for all to share their challenges or asked a few things they don't understand about the platform, new ones were asking questions like, why their payout reduces on the 7th day, questions about delegation, curation trails, and setting of beneficiaries, etc. @frequantum, and I took care of all the questions. @ngoenyi join us, she shared her experience and encouraged all to be consistent. The meetup was over by 6:15 PM we were all satisfied and felt encouraged!!! Below were those in attendance:

Hello dear @mile16 I appreciate your contribution thank you, indeed the important of Meet-Up like this can't be overstated or emphasized I hope the new ones I've learned and will take care of their keys.

You handled the job of organizing the last meetup quite well. It was indeed a wonderful time spent together with Steemians physically and virtually. Every bit of it was worth it. And I know most of the points discussed would go a long way to keeping Steemians more active and pushing towards the best. Great report, @goodybest.
