What if...? Yes, what if I was behind the Steemcurator01 account?

First of all, I would take a deep breath...

Because I would be all too aware of the plethora of expectations placed upon me - which I couldn't possibly live up to. That creates enormous pressure, you know? I don't want to escape it, but I don't want to be permanently exposed to it either. So I had to come up with a way to deal with it in a tolerable and compatible way without letting myself become a pawn in various interests.

The approaches with the Community Curators are a good thing. It could still grow - but unfortunately everyone expects me to manage and administer it and be omnipresent. I can't and won't do that. So we continue to try out step by step what works and hopefully at some point we will arrive at a system that is generally accepted because it is universally useful.

The idea of using the Engagement Challenge to create incentives for a broader mass of people to participate and to motivate new, inexperienced users has been implemented ... well, semi-optimally. Although I have to admit, after an initial phase of many boring repetitions and banalities, the newer topics give hope ;-))

Then there are the Diary Games... They are a nagging issue for me. Of course, many authors can get started in blogging this way - but to read about their daily morning rituals day after day after day because of it is not something I would have expected. How am I supposed to stop it...?

This brings us to the question of what I would like to read: diverse, surprising, interesting, exciting, poetic, scientific, thoughtful... I am open to everything you offer me! It must come from your "pen", it must contain your thoughts, it must pick me up and take me along. To reward it with my high votes, it should also be steemexclusive: write on other platforms if you like - but then please don't expect any significant support in the form of votes from me! On the other hand, I wouldn't really care which club you belong to. In other words, what you do with the steems you harvest here is up to you. What would be important to me is that you use some of it for the community. Be it as a sponsor for various charitable projects that support individual communities here or as a slowly but steadily growing stakeholder through regular power ups (in the range of about 50% of the income), as an organiser of internal steem events such as competitions, meetings, as a recruiter for new members or even as a guide and teacher for these newcomers.

Although I have always spoken about myself and in the first person, I am of course not completely alone. We are a small team that takes turns with our activities. That's the way it has to be - we have to cover a few languages and areas of interest and regions and time zones. After all, we all have a life beside the Steem, just like you!

Still, it remains an exhausting task to always be on the lookout for good contributions and authors, to answer questions and clear up ambiguities as much as possible. We are working on improving this! We make the first part of the work a little easier for ourselves by following authors from whom we now expect consistently high-quality articles. There are quite a few of them, and we are constantly adding new ones. Maybe we don't always give them votes for their best contributions, but we appreciate their constant input on the platform, their interaction with other users and their commitment to the Steem, which costs private time if nothing else.

Who "we" really are - there are rumours and speculations about that. On the one hand, that's totally stupid, on the other hand, you might understand why that is. We have families, we are vulnerable. We are human beings like you and you and you too - we can't help being elevated to the sc pedestal and becoming the addressee of all covetousness. Please do not be angry with us for not revealing our private identities! But, and I think this is very important: we share our thoughts with you. We can be reached under posts and comments. You will also be given some alias accounts that you can contact directly: we will ignore requests for support for individuals or questions that have already been answered umpteen times elsewhere. But for substantial news and address we will be within reach in the future! We will be happy to explain this - and our very own Steem philosophy - in detail in person, e.g. in an interview with @ubongudofot in his showcase ;-))

So write, dear Steemians, blog and share your art, your life, your fears, your wishes and visions with us! We want to help, but in the end we can't do magic either...

While we are at it: we are just as concerned about the decline of the Steem Prize as you are. We have taken note that the efforts in the matter of #burnsteem have not brought the hoped-for result. Until now. This is probably partly due to the fact that only small accounts with stakes irrelevant to the global value are participating. We should set an example and liquidate a part of our SP ourselves and transfer it to @null. Let's say 20% or so. That should make a significant tangible contribution to stabilising the price and getting it back into growth mode. Hopefully the other accounts, some of which are even superior to us in terms of power, such as @rme or @hungry-griffin, will also participate in this action: this, and only this, would help everyone in the medium term!

Sooo... I guess the real steem curators won't like everything I wrote "on their behalf". But that was not the purpose of this exercise. At least you know my humble view of things now.

Was wäre wenn…? Ja, was wäre, wenn ich hinter dem Steemcurator01-Account stehen würde?

Als erstes würde ich ganz tief durchatmen…

Mir wäre nämlich nur allzu bewußt, was für eine Fülle von Erwartungen in mich gesetzt werden – denen ich unmöglich gerecht werden kann. Das erzeugt enormen Druck, wißt Ihr? Ich will mich dem nicht entziehen, aber auch nicht permanent aussetzen. Also mußte ich mir etwas einfallen lassen, wie ich damit erträglich und verträglich umgehen kann, ohne mich zum Spielball verschiedenster Interessen machen zu lassen.

Die Ansätze mit den Community-Kuratoren sind eine gute Sache. Sie könnte noch wachsen – nur leider erwarten alle von mir, daß ich das manage und verwalte und omnipräsent bin. Das kann und werde ich nicht leisten. Also probieren wir weiter Schritt für Schritt aus, was geht und kommen hoffentlich irgendwann zu einem allgemein akzeptierten, weil allseits nützlichen System.

Die Idee, über die Engagement Challenge für eine breitere Masse Anreize zu schaffen, sich zu beteiligen und neue, noch unerfahrene Nutzer zu motivieren, ist … na ja, semioptimal umgesetzt worden. Wobei ich ehrlicherweise zugeben muß, nach einer anfänglichen Phase vieler öder Wiederholungen und Banalitäten lassen die neueren Themen doch hoffen ;-))

Dann sind da noch die Diary Games… Die sind ein ganz leidiges Thema für mich. Natürlich können viele Autoren auf diese Art einen Einstieg ins Bloggen finden – aber deswegen Tag für Tag für Tag über ihre täglichen Morgenrituale zu lesen, hätte ich denn doch nicht erwartet. Wie soll ich das denn nur stoppen…?

Damit sind wir auch schon bei der Frage, was ich so lesen möchte: Vielfältiges, Überraschendes, Wissenswertes, Spannendes, Poetisches, Wissenschaftliches, Durchdachtes,… Ich bin offen für alles, was Ihr mir anbietet! Es muß aus Eurer „Feder“ stammen, es muß Eure Gedanken enthalten, es muß mich abholen und mitnehmen. Um es mit meinen hohen Votes zu belohnen, sollte es auch steemexklusiv sein: schreibt meinetwegen auch auf anderen Plattformen – aber dann erwartet bitte keinen nennenswerten Support in Form von Votes von mir! Dagegen wäre mir ziemlich egal, welchem Club Ihr so angehört. Soll heißen, was Ihr mit den Steems anfangt, die Ihr hier erntet, ist Eure Sache. Wichtig wäre mir, daß Ihr einen Teil davon für die Gemeinschaft verwendet. Sei es als Sponsor für diverse gemeinnützige Projekte, die einzelne Communities hier unterstützen oder als langsam, aber stetig wachsender Stakeholder durch regelmäßige Power Ups (im Bereich von ungefähr 50% der Erträge), als Veranstalter von steeminternen Events wie Wettbewerben, Meetings, als Rekrutierer für neue Mitglieder oder eben als Guide und Lehrmeister für diese Neulinge.

Wenngleich ich bis dahin immer von mir und in der Ich-Form sprach, bin ich natürlich gar nicht so ganz alleine. Wir sind ein kleines Team, das sich abwechselt mit unseren Aktivitäten. Das muß so sein – wir müssen ein paar Sprachen abdecken und Interessengebiete und Regionen und Zeitzonen. Wir haben immerhin alle ein Leben neben dem Steem, wie Ihr auch!

Es bleibt dennoch eine anstrengende Aufgabe, immer auf der Suche nach guten Beiträgen und Autoren zu sein, Fragen zu beantworten und Unklarheiten möglichst zu beseitigen. Wir arbeiten daran, das noch zu verbessern! Ein bißchen erleichtern wir uns den erstgenannten Teil der Arbeit, indem wir Autoren folgen, von denen wir mittlerweile gleichbleibend hochwertige Artikel erwarten. Das sind gar nicht wenige, es kommen auch ständig neue dazu. Vielleicht vergeben wir an die nicht immer Votes für ihre besten Beiträge, aber wir würdigen ihren konstanten Input auf der Plattform, ihre Interaktion mit anderen Nutzern und ihr Engagement für den Steem, der nicht zuletzt private Zeit kostet.

Wer „wir“ wirklich sind – darüber gibt es Gerüchte und Spekulationen. Das ist auf der einen Seite total doof, auf der anderen versteht Ihr vielleicht, warum das so ist. Wir haben Familien, wir sind angreifbar. Wir sind Menschen wie Du und Du und Du auch – wir können nicht anders damit umgehen, daß wir auf den sc-Sockel gehoben werden und zum Adressaten aller Begehrlichkeiten. Seid uns bitte nicht gram, daß wir unsere privaten Identitäten nicht preisgeben! Aber, und das halte ich für ganz wichtig: wir teilen unsere Gedanken mit Euch. Wir sind erreichbar unter Posts und Kommentaren. Ihr werdet auch einige Alias-Accounts genannt bekommen, mit denen Ihr direkt Kontakt aufnehmen könnt: die Bitte um Support für den Einzelnen oder bereits x-mal an anderer Stelle beantwortete Fragen werden wir auch hier ignorieren. Aber für substantielle Nachrichten und Ansprache sind wir künftig in Reichweite! Das – und unsere ganz eigene Steem-Philosophie -erklären wir auch gerne noch einmal in aller Ausführlichkeit persönlich, z.B. in einem Interview mit @ubongudofot in seinem Showcase ;-))

Also schreibt, liebe Steemianer, bloggt und teilt Eure Kunst, Euer Leben, Eure Ängste, Eure Wünsche und Visionen mit uns! Wir wollen dabei helfen, aber zaubern können wir letzten Endes auch nicht…

Weil wir gerade dabei sind: wir sind genauso betroffen vom Verfall des Steem-Preises wie Ihr. Wir haben zur Kenntnis genommen, daß die Bemühungen in Sachen #burnsteem nicht das erhoffte Resultat gebracht haben. Bis jetzt. Zum Teil dürfte das nämlich daran liegen, daß nur kleine Accounts mit – für den globalen Wert irrelevanten Stakes – sich daran beteiligen. Wir sollten ein Zeichen setzen und selbst einen Teil unserer SP zu liqudieren und an @null transferieren. Sagen wir, 20% etwa. Das sollte einen deutlich spürbaren Beitrag leisten, um den Preis zu stabilisieren und wieder in den Wachstumsbereich zu gelangen. Hoffentlich beteiligen sich die anderen, uns teilweise an Power sogar überlegenen Accounts wie @rme oder @hungry-griffin auch an dieser Aktion: damit, und nur damit, wäre nämlich allen mittelfristig geholfen!

Sooo… Ich schätze, den echten Steemkuratoren wird nicht alles gefallen, was ich so „in ihrem Namen“ schrieb. Das war aber auch nicht der Zweck dieser Übung. Meine bescheidene Sicht auf die Dinge kennt Ihr jetzt zumindest.
