@NGOENYI CONTEST 13. MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD STORY AND ITS LESSONS. 10% REWARD OF THIS POST TO STEEMKIDS

Hello steemians! Accept the warmest greetings from @paddykam. I hope we are doing great at our various places. Am new in steemkids and very excited to belong. Before I proceed with my participation of this wonderful contest, permit me appreciate the organizer of such a contest. I love sharing and this is one of the many stories I learned as a child. I plead for the organizer to help correct me if am going out of the rules.

MY FAVOURITE STORY.
My favourite story is about "A CROCODILE AND A MONKEY "
These two animals were great friend and their friendship lasted for a long time. The monkey lives on a tree besides a seashore. The monkey's friend, the crocodile 🐊 lives in the sea and loves stories from this monkey 🐒. Every morning the crocodile will come out from the sea to listen to stories from the monkey.

One day the crocodile invited the monkey to their kingdom. The crocodile said their king 👑 has heard a lot about the monkey his friend and will be very happy to see him and equally get to listen from some of the stories.

When the monkey received the news it was a surprise to it since it couldn't swim. The monkey asked the crocodile how possible it is given that it can't swim. The crocodile told the monkey not to worry and that the monkey will be on its back while it swims.

Since the monkey trusted his friendship with the crocodile it accepted to goand meet with the king not knowing the crocodile was to betray their friendship.
Actually the king of the crocodile was sick and needed the head of a monkey for medication and the crocodile decided to sacrifice the friend for that.

The monkey climbed on the back of the crocodile and by mid day they arrive the kingdom. When they arrived the crocodile told the friend, monkey his real plans that their king is seriously sick and needed the head of a monkey for treatment.

The monkey knowing that it has been deceived decided to play a fast one on them. The monkey sympathized with the kind and pleaded to go back on the tree to get its head. The monkey said they don't move with their heads. Their heads are kept on the tree before they embark on any journey. So the monkey pleaded to be taken back to the tree so it can get its head.

Without hesitation the king ordered the crocodile to take its friend back to the tree to get its head. When the monkey 🙈 reached the tree 🎄 it laughed and told the crocodile that it was with its head right at their kingdom but needed to deceive them to be free. The monkey told the monkey 🙊 how disappointed it was and that their friendship has ended.

HOW I LEARNED THE STORY AND AT WHAT AGE?
I was told this story when I was 10 years of age while in primary 6. by my class teacher.

5 LESSONS FROM THIS STORY.
Lessons learned from the story are:

• we should not betray our friends.
• we should be careful in selecting our friends
• we should love all but be very selective when it comes to trust.
  -we should always replace fear with faith when faced with challenges as those of the monkey.
  -friendship is a choice that we need to be careful when it's betrayed. We should be careful in giving such friends like the crocodile the second chance.
