"📢 Steem Kids Contest | Developing children's creativity: "Making Colorful Butterflies " by @daakye".

Butterflies are some of the most beautiful creatures found in parks or gardens. They come in different beautiful colors. The typical adult butterfly has large and colorful wings that enable them to be spotted from very far. But of late, I haven’t come across a butterfly for a while now. I took the initiative to make some with cardboard and taught my cousin and his friends. I was surprised to see how quickly he picked up and was able to follow in my steps. He is Lemuel and He is 11 years. With this gift he has, I am signing him up soon to join the @steemkidss community to showcase his talents.

The site of butterflies makes children very happy and excited. I remember seeing a butterfly some months ago and running after it with my little sisters. I hope this craft makes you happy as well.
Today I decided to do a butterfly with cardboard. I taught my cousin and they helped me do it. It took close to half an hour to complete the entire craft.

This is very simple to do, anyone at all can do it; just follow the steps and watch the video to augment you in doing it.

Materials used

• Blue and green cardboard
• Scissors
• Colorful highlighters
• Ruler
• Glue

Procedure

STEP 1
• Measure 15 cm square on the cardboard
• Draw the outline and cut it out using scissors
• Use the cut-out square to draw outlines for some more squares

STEP 2

• Color the cut square in your preferred color.
• Fold the square into two
• Fold it into a triangle form

STEP 3

• Fold it into a smaller triangle
• Cut out the edge with the scissors to give it a somewhat circle at the ending

STEP 4

• Pull the folded side backward and you have your butterfly
