Game review | My favorite video game - Ib RPG Maker

Good afternoon! Today I come to participate in the contest that brings us our friend @sohanurrahman where we will review our favorite video game. In my case, I prefer decision games where every decision or action you take can change the end of the game. For this reason, today I will review one of the last games that I loved and this one is called: Ib. I hope you like it!

Ib (you can pronounce eve) is a game created by "Kouri" created in RPG Maker 2000, it's a Psychological Terror and Puzzle game where you must be quite clever to be able to advance.

In this story we have as protagonist Ib, a girl who is turning 9 years old and as a celebration her parents take her to an art exhibition of the famous painter Weis Guertena in the museum, Weis is a painter known for his dark works although I consider it as abstract art. After separating from her parents and going for a walk, she notices a large painting and after a few seconds, she finds out that she is completely alone in the museum, or so she thought, since very strange things start to happen in the museum.

Ib lost and not knowing what to do enters the same picture and there transports us to the world inside the picture where our Ib must survive at all costs of the monsters there, and not only that. If life depends on a red rose that for every time we lose a petal will fall and when we have no more petals, the game is over. As we advance in the game, we realize that there is a boy who needs our help and this is Garry, a boy of about 17 years old who also looked at the museum and was also brought into this world and he also has a blue rose. And then we meet Mary, a mysterious girl with a yellow rose, but usually we don't know anything about her.

Ib is an old school game with the typical RPG game controls, with 8 or 16 bits graphics that despite being an old fashioned style, the truth is that it gives a touch to the game. The music on the other hand works very well to set the mood and also has that old-school charm that gives the game its charm.

Although the story is simple, it is dark and intriguing, so it provokes to play it several times to get all the endings, where some are happy and others not so happy. In total there are seven endings. Although they may seem neutral, it is the player who decides if he is good or not.

The only drawback is the duration: This game can be completed in about 2 to 3 hours, which will be very short while you are playing it. I knew this game this year, when I finished playing Mogeko Castle and Mad Father, other RPG Maker games that I recommend them very much, when I finished both, I wanted a similar game and there I met Ib investigating by the page Indie Horror RPG a page where we can download a lot of RPG Maker horror games, although don't worry, this game I don't consider it pure terror. But I understand that some scenes without are a bit scary.

What I liked most about this game is that you have to use your wits to advance, so there are no fights or battles. And it's in the first place among my favorite RPG games even though aesthetically it's not the best, but as I said, the story that seems simple but has a lot of meaning and the soundtrack in the classic style, which makes this game easily enjoyable.

Despite its short duration, it is a game that I recommend to the lovers of RPG and psychological terror games. Also recently came out the version 1.05 where there are 20 endings. A fact that I like, is that as the game progresses you notice that the characters fall little by little into madness due to everything that happens around them. This touch makes us also react a little to this and get into the skin of the characters that personally, I like them.

This game manages to finish it in 2 hours and don't worry, it's a PC game that runs perfectly on low-end computers, since this game requires few requirements. So surely you can play it. And you can get it for free in English and Spanish in the Indie Horror RPG page and it weighs almost nothing, only 45 MB the version 1.05.
