Assalam O Alaikum Everyone!

I hope all of you are doing great! So, the theme for today's blog is about education and the topic that I have chosen is **Importance Of Mental Health**. The first question that comes to our mind is What is mental health ? So first let's start from here!

What is mental health?

A human body is full of emotions, which includes a person's feeling, thinking, his actions towards anything, behaviors and how a person socializes with others. All of these emotions play a huge role in a person's well being. They can either be a reason behind a person's happiness or they can affect a person drastically as a whole. Medically our brain is directly connected to each and every part of our body and that's why it manages every single emotion of a person. So, mental health is basically directly proportional to how well your brain is processing and how well it is responding to every situation around you. The simplest definition of mental health is;

A state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community" Source

Why mental health is important?

A person with a healthy mind always comes up with the best thoughts, positive vibes and plays a big part in his particular environment. Be it his workplace, home or educational institute or anywhere else. Being emotionally healthy is a great sign of being productive. If you are mentally healthy, you can cope up with every single problem of your life, be it a problem in your relationship or be it some kind of financial problems you can adapt to every single change that occurs in your life.

What if you are not mentally healthy?

As we have already discussed the importance of mental health, we can say that how much impact does mental health have in our lives. Now, what if a person is not mentally healthy ? What changes and what kind of obstacles he or she can face in life? The answer is simple. Being mentally healthy directly means an unbalanced, unhappy and totally destructive life. A person with unhealthy mind and mental disorders can have the drastic changes in their lives. Following are the possible problems one can go through with an unhealthy mind;

  • Low self esteem
  • Negative thoughts most of the times
  • Low energy with bad sleeping habits
  • Problem in decision making
  • Migraine and headache issues most of the times
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Less interest towards family and friends
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Trouble in understanding things
  • Mostly absent minded

There are much more problems that one can go through due to unhealthy mind and different mental disorders.

How you can get yourself treated ?

It is very important to get yourself treated by the doctor and take care of your mental health because it is as important as taking care of your physical health. Now the question that comes in to our mind is how we can get ourselves treated if we are not mentally healthy ? To get yourself treated you can take any of the following measures;

1. Concern a friend or any family member:

For the initial stage, if you see any of the above symptom and you feel less active and feel like not doing anything, talk to your friends or any person that you are close to. It will make you feel relax and easy and you might feel fine after that.

2. Concern a psychiatrist:

If you still feel depressed and stressed all the time even after talking to your friend, then concern a psychiatrist and discuss your problems with him. Psychiatrist are found to be really helpful when it comes to mental stability.

3. Medication:

Medications can be helpful too if you have severe mental illness and you are not able to cope with it at all. There are many antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications and mood stabilizers that are really helpful sometimes.

4. Self care:

Self care should be the top priority when it comes to mental health issues. You need to focus on your diet, your skin, you eating habits, your activities and your personality because self care does miracles when it comes to mental health issues .

Conclusion:

Hence, we can say that healthy mind plays a vital role in our lives. It gives us strength to go through every single problem and obstacles that we can have in our lives. Also, by any chance if we face any mental health issues we should get ourselves treated by proper diet, regular physical activities, proper sleeping habit and by getting properly checked by the doctor.

Yes we mostly don't pay attention towards our mental health, which in real should be our top priority!
