Para esta primera semana de este nueva iniciativa, traigo un tema muy antiguo, muy trágico, que data del año 1924 compuesto inicialmente por Luis Martínez Serrano y readaptado en su música al ritmo del tango por Augusto Berto.

For the first week of this new initiative, I bring a very old, very tragic song, dating from 1924 initially composed by Luis Martínez Serrano and readapted in his music to the rhythm of tango by Augusto Berto.

Este ha sido grabado por innumerables cantantes. Entre los más conocidos están Vicente Fernández, Javier Solís, Mocedades (mí versión favorita) y Roberto Ledesma (base de la versión de orquesta que interpreto).

This song has been recorded by countless singers. Among the best known are Vicente Fernández, Javier Solís, Mocedades (my favorite version) and Roberto Ledesma (the basis of the orchestral version that I interpret).

En mi caso particular, la primera vez que lo oí y me encantó, fue en la radio e interpretado por el grupo español Mocedades. La letra en esta versión está suavizada y tiene un tono más romántico y menos trágico que la letra original.

In my particular case, the first time I heard it and loved it, it was on the radio and performed by the Spanish group Mocedades. The lyrics in this version are softened and have a more romantic and less tragic tone than the original lyrics.
