Steem Sri Lanka year-end contest | Looking back at 2021.
As bus travel was closed due to quarantine and to move you had to have a special permit which was expensive, a friend of mine helped me by asking another friend I didn't know to take me in his truck as he was working in transporting goods from one state to another. It was a somewhat different experience to travel for two days with two strangers in a truck and thank God that the military did not ask me for a special travel permit because they thought I was an employee of the company.
Once in the centre of the country I was able to meet up again with great friends I hadn't seen for years, the city was not the same as I had left it and many times I got lost because I couldn't remember the way, but that made me walk around a bit more, so it wasn't bad.
As for my work I had to receive the assignments from my students by phone and some directions I also gave them by phone. It was something new for me because most of the students didn't have access to internet but everyone did a great job.
Most of the posts I wrote on Steemit from January to September were done in the waiting room of a hospital, where Steemit became my refreshment, a place to get out of the reality I was living, struggling between hospitals, buying medicines, queues for days to buy petrol, But I also met people with good hearts who helped me, some neighbours sometimes prepared food for us so that I wouldn't have to cook, they gave my dad sweets and fruit, something simple but for me it was something very big.
At the end of August my dad got a place in a dialysis centre in my city and was able to travel so on the 1st of September I arrived back in my state with my dad. Here with my family I had more help to take care of my dad and at last I could be at home writing posts for Steemit although sometimes I still write in the waiting room of the clinic.
By relaxing the quarantine I was able to return to my classroom in October and between teaching, being in the clinic, taking care of my dad and being in Steemit I finished this year, in conclusion I can say that 2021 was a positive year because despite everything that happened I was able to overcome and move forward thanks to God.
Steemit became a window to clear my mind, I met nice people, with Steemit I was able to pay for some of my dad's medication so I am satisfied with what I have achieved.
This is what happened in my year 2021, a year of challenges but I overcame them successfully and that fills me with joy.
Thanks to @randulakoralage for organising this contest.
I invite a @jack0, @lilip, and @arau.

Yes, thank God the blockade ended here too, and yes, the study mode is different from what we are used to,

You have been very strong this year for you and for your dad.
That's right, sometimes we don't know how strong we can be for our family.
