Having a child may be one of the most important things for a wedded couple. I don't know about that very much since I'm not married yet🙂. But from things I've heard and things I've seen in our society and movies, it seems to be much more true.

But the thing is all women can't have children. For that, treatments can be done and make it work out somehow. Also, there's tube baby technology. But when the problem is in the husband's hand, that's a big issue.

I don't know the treatments which can be done for a man to be fertile again. But there are simple ways to get a woman pregnant if the man is infertile. There are sperm donors. It's not easy to be a sperm donor. There's a series of tests to be passed. If those tests were passed, he can become a sperm donor. And the other thing is a donor can only give his sperm 3 times.

A fertility specialist doctor would do the insertion of sperm at the right time. The couple should choose whose sperm will be inserted. This is kinda new to our ears but in countries like the USA, this is very common.

Why I said all these things is, as for this Documentary, "Our Father", what happened in Indiana, the USA around the '70s, and '80s is actually a horror.

Dr. Donald Cline was a fertility doctor who worked in Indiana from the '70s to the '80s. He had helped so many families who had no children to be happy ever after. But the thing that happened underneath is the true horror.

Here's the thing. If a society has so many people that have the same genetic code, that would be a great problem. Having the same genetic codes mean, they are related. Things could go sideways if two of those people reproduce. It's The child who had to face the consequences.

That's why a sperm donor is not allowed to donor more than 3 times. But things have got worsen in Indiana when a fertility doctor becomes the sperm donor. We've seen the news that children from abroad come to Sri Lanka searching for their biological fathers and mothers. But in Indiana, people who were born using a sperm donor did DNA testing just to find their Siblings.

There was an organization kinda thing, "23and me". That's the one that ran the most DNA tests. Jacoba, one of the siblings was shocked to see siblings more than 3. And their parent's fertility doctor Dr. Don Cline made a bigger question to her.

The number of siblings got higher and higher. The law doesn't cover these types of crimes. But with publicity and having 94 step siblings, the Indiana court had to do what should do. With the breaking of the story of Dr. Cline, the shock went island wide and it wasn't only Dr. Cline. 44 other doctors were accused.

Because of the urge of one woman, it was able to uncover one of the biggest horrors in Indiana. And with this documentary, people all around the world got to know about it..
