Last time I described, how we conducted our research before our garden activity. So we had three options with us, including our design. When analyzing in-detailed quotations, we realized that there is a considerable amount of hidden and unfair charges. We did some digging into market prices of elements such as interlock, grass, and especially plants and found that there is a significant difference with the quotations. Also when considering the other possible unplanned expenses, gardening service prices seemed too out of our expectation.

So we decided to go the hard way!

First, we realized the nature of our land and did a finalized element design. I drew it using PowerPoint to make it easy to access. Then for each segment, we decided what kind of element to use. For example, we decided which kind of interlock pattern to use, where we cover with interlock, and how much surface we cover. After spending many evenings we were able to finalize the floor plan which also addresses all our problems. We referred to garden photos shared on Facebook also designs in Pinterest.

Once the design was done, we got the question of where we start. So first we thought to clean and flatten the surface. This included removing cinnamon plants, preparing the soil, and filling it according to the correct height. The next thing in the plan was to do the interlock and after that, we planned to make brick separators for plants and grass. Our mission bass agreed to cover all these.

Then we had to check where we can purchase grass, plants, gravel and some other cement items. It wasn't easy but we checked for multiple Facebook stores and shops for them. Finally we found a shop called "Mandevila" in Baddegama to purchase good quality plants and grass. We purchased 4 types of plants and fertilizer there. Harith and I did the planting with the help of his brother and father.

The next day, people from the same shop visited here and did the grass as well. We wanted some concrete silpara for a footpath and gravel, and we were able to find silpara from a concrete shop and gravel from a shop called Heesara.

Even by spending some additional time, we could manage to fulfill everything we wanted as we wished. Another challenge successfully completed. Stay tuned for final look!!
