A Movie Review – Snow White & the Huntsman

This film is an American fantasy film and based on the German Fairy tale of Snow White. This movie was directed by Rupert Sanders and produced by Joe Roth and Sam Mercer. Kristen Stewart plays the role of Snow White, Charis Hemsworth plays role of Huntsman, Charlize Theron act as Ravenna. This film was released in 2023. Let’s check the story of this movie.

Queen Eleanor of Tabor went to garden of castle and picks and tried to pick a rose. Her finger is pricked from a thorn of roses and three drops of blood fall into the snow. She wished for a daughter who has skin as white as snow and lips as red as blood and hair as black as raven’s wings. Queen gave the birth to a daughter and named as Snow White. After many years the queen died. King Magnus with his army went to battle and they saw a lady. She pretends that she was a prisoner. She enchanted the king and finally married him. Her name is Ravenna.

The poor king does not have an idea of her master plan. He falls in love with her, Ravenna killed the king on the wedding night and become the queen of the kingdom. She summoned her army to the kingdom. Ravenna is a witch who use dark magic. The people who are able to survive escape from the kingdom. Snow white also tried escape with her friend William. But that effort was in vain. Snow white couldn’t be able to escape, and Ravenna keeps snow white as a prisoner for years.

Ravenna always goes in front of a magical mirror and asks who is the fairest of them all. The mirror said it was her. Ravenna brings beautiful girls and drains the youth from them in order to main a spell cast over her as child by her mother. It allows her to keep as young. But one day when she asked it from the mirror, the mirror said there is a person now in the world and she is fairest than you. And her name is Snow white. And also, she goes to know that she is determined to destroy her unless she consumes Snow White’s heart, and it will make immortal her.

Ravenna told her brother to bring Snow White to her. His brother goes to carry her but during this time she able to escape from the castle. She ran away with the help of a horse and went to the dark forest. Ravenna’s army and his brother followed her, but they had no power in the dark forest and came back to the kingdom. They found a huntsman to catch her. Since Ravenna said that she can bring back her wife from the death, he agreed to that.

He went there and found her but during that time he found out that Ravenna lied to her and fought against her army. Snow white and Huntsman escape from them. Snow White wanted to find her father’s army. On this journey they faced many troubles from Ravenna as well. They met eight dwarfs and with their help of them they were again able to escape from the army.

However, Ravenna did not stop, and she again sent an army to catch them. During this fight Ravenna’s brother dies from the huntsman. Due to that Ravenna became so weak and used many girls to keep her young. During this time Snow White met William and he came to help her. They again start their travel. By that time Ravenna did a trick and she showed herself as William and gave poisoned apple to Snow White. She ate it and fell to sleep from it. Willian gave a kiss, but nothing happens. They couldn’t find medicine to give her. Finally, they went to Hammond’s castle.

The huntsman professes his regret for being unbale to save her and he also gave a kiss to her. The two kisses of true love break the spell. Snow White awakens from her sleep and talks with everyone they have to defeat Ravenna. Otherwise, they cannot live in peace. The army and all the people agreed with her. They attacked the kingdom.

Snow white went to the place where Ravenna in. They start to fight. When Ravenna is about to kill her, snow white kills her first by using the move which taught by the huntsman before. Finally, Ravenna died, and kingdom become free from her darkness. Snow White was crowned as the new Queen of Tabor.
