CAN THESE FOOTBALL STARS RETAIN THEIR FORM THIS COMING SEASON?

Greetings everyone,

Consistency is everything in Football and if you start slacking, you'll get replaced. Of course, this comes in different shapes and sizes mainly depending on the person's career achievements or even contract details. Take for example Raheem Sterling of Man City who was clearly out of form last season and couldn't play like he used to.

This was probably his worst season at Man City ever since he joined the Ettihad stadium. Yet, due to the confidence Pep Guardiola had in their skipper, he had more play time than necessary in my opinion. He even allowed him to play in the champions league final against Chelsea.

Another example is Timo Werner of Chelsea. I particularly like to see him play since he is quite serious and tries his best in every single match. I think this is why both Lampard and Thomas Tuchel liked to include him on the lineups even on big matches despite the numerous 1-on-1 situations he missed.

Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard are all part of this list.

I quite remember, even top players like N'golo Kante and Pogba were kept mostly on the sidelines after they had dropped massively in form.

But it seems that, when it comes to the very new talents and promising players, the room for error is usually slim. These players are mostly not given the benefit of the doubt and may be forced to work twice as harder to gain recognition.

Man City's very own academy boy, Phil Foden is a typical example of the young generation who have sprung into the light. His energy and agility with the ball is just beautiful to watch. He also handles the left wing quite nicely with his impressive pace, passing and ball control. In an interview with Ferdinand, Pep said he reminded him of a young Messi.

Bukayo Saka, Mason Mount, Joao Felix and Ilkay Gundogan are also players who have caught the eye of many football fans. This has certainly placed a lot of weight on their shoulders and fans have lots of expectation for the coming season. But this is football, and should they fall out of form, they will be dropped.

It is therefore important for them to stay focused on training and growing in their respective clubs. Hopefully, they can become the leaders of the new generation.

Here is a video I found about some promising football stars in the coming future 👇.

Saludos estimado.

Well said, it's all about consistency in today's game. If you're lucky to get a second chance, you must do well to cherish it.

Greetings...

I guess they can if only the will concentrate and avoid being distracted by contracts

They surely need to stay focused. That iz the only way to stay consistent.

I'm expecting great things from Foden this season, especially with Grealish signing. I think / hope Foden will play on the right, cutting inside and Grealish will be on the left doing the same. De Bruyne through the middle and Kane up front if he can force a move through. What an incredible attack that would be. Then the ever reliable Rodri and Gundogan holding the midfield with Mendy & Cancelo marauding down the wings with Stones, Dias and Emerson clearing things up. What a mouth-watering prospect.

The thing I like about Saka is that his attitude is superb. He's still grounded despite his England achievements and I really hope that the penalty miss doesn't take too much out of him.
