Finals ATP Tours 2021 #Daniil Medvedev vs Alexander Zverev
Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Germany's world number three Alexander Zverev will face off in the 2021 ATP Finals final. Alexander Zverev surprisingly defeated world number one and top seed Novak Djokovic 7-6(4) 4- 6 6-3, on Saturday Italian time or Sunday WIB.
After a draw in the first two sets, own faults began to creep into Novak Djokovic's game in the third. He hit a long backhand that actually gave Alexander Zverev the opportunity to lead the match 3-1. Two games later, the German looked even more fiery, but instead opened the door for the Russian to retaliate. Not to be outdone, Zverev hit a second serve that Djokovic couldn't handle to lead 5-2 before closing the match.
"Once Novak got into rhythm when he came back he was very difficult, so I tried different things," Zverev said.
In the 2021 ATP Finals final, 2018 ATP Finals champion Alexander Zverev will challenge the second seed, world number two from Russia, Daniil Medvedev. In the semifinals of the defending ATP Finals champion, Madvedev defeated Norway's Casper Ruud 6-4 6-2. Daniil Medvedev recorded a perfect result in the ATP Finals round-robin group stage with wins over Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner before beating Casper Ruud in the semifinals.
