Some Things I would Do If I Was Made The Vice Chancellor Of My University For 24 Hours

Good day to everyone on this platform who has visited this post to enjoy this content I have posted based on the contest bearing the Title above.
As a Student of The University Of Nigeria, There are indeed some areas in my School I feel that if previledged to be The fore- runner of this exquisite institution I would look into. Some of which I would like to enlist below:

Transportation

Looking into a typical University setting like mine, you would see that it's one of the centres of attraction of any young man or woman interested in studying to showing himself approved. A school bearing roughly more than forty-five thousand students should be ready to be face the risk of students always being late to lectures due to distance, traffic, insufficient number of vehicles or even improperly structured bus stops.
I think effective transport system would set a turn around in every educational environment especially the kinds that are soo large as to accommodate nine(9) faculties and counting and more than Twenty two(22) departments. I would ensure that there is a good number of vehicles in good conditions available in the school as well as mounting strategic bus stops to ensure the efficient transportation of students to their destinations of desire.

Renovation And Proper Maintenance Of Faculty Lecture Theatres

While some faculties and well kept and maintained, the others are quite the opposite as the old and overlooked ones would begin to have broken seats, fans, windows, switches, projectors and ceilings etc and behind some faculties would become an eye saw as refuse would start being dumped arnd there, making it inconducive for learning. As a Vice Chancellor, I would see to it that faculty renovation is looked into because it's only a good environment that makes learning a fun thing to engage in.

The Institution's Security

I would always say that"Safety Is My Number One Priority". As a Vice Chancellor I would see to it that the security system of the institution be made more rigid and tightened up because when students and lecturers have this feeling of being safe it also guarantee the maximum comfort and concentration of students, there would never be any cause of alarm or distress whether during the day or at nights.

Semester Calendar Adjustments And Suitable Curriculum

As a student, I have noticed that the key things to the improvement of student's Grade Point to the standard is to ensure that the yearly calendar is mapped out in a strategic way so as to fit in enough lecture weeks and also enough time for students to participate in other personal or collective activities like reading, social gatherings, matriculation and convocation periods, sports and then setting appropriate intervals suitable for exams to ensure that the students meet up with all round fitness, because as the Certificate says "In Character And In Learning". The proper curriculum for the semester should also be looked into and ensure that it is properly taught by the lecturer and also easily assimilated by the students. This in general makes learning soo efficient.

Payment Of Salaries To Staff

As a Vice Chancellor, I would ensure that all the previous salaries of both the Academic and Non- academic Staffs have been fully and that no dime has been denied of any staff without any just reason. Reasons being the the lecturers are the pillars of successful graduation of students or the failure and accumulation of carryovers and extra years by students.
Lecturing Job is one of the toughest jobs, and is far more unbearable than in the case of teachers in secondary schools where you get to punish (flog) the students who misbehave, Lecturers don't have that right and so seeing Lecturers who get along with students shows that He or She is a happy person and is comfortable with his life and paying of salaries ensures this.
It also checkmates the attitude of Lecturers wanting to make money from their students all in the name of passing their course.

Re- equipment Of Libraries, Bookshops And Laboratories

The Vice Chancellor is basically the "Alpha" of the university and is the one in charge of provisions of the facilities necessary to improve the educational sector of the University. I would make sure that the books needed for sale are always made available in the shelves of the University Bookshop so that students could purchase their books on time, and the textbooks with quality knowledge to be made available in libraries for the research and understanding of topics as well as adequately preparing scholars for their exams.
While the Laboratories be equipped with nice apparatus, chemicals, and equipment for the proper dissemination of scientific knowledge through experiments to verify Laws, Thesis or even postulate new Theories.

Well with these few Agendas I believe I would make an impact if made a Vice Chancellor for up to 24 hours.
