The process of making yellow lentils chilla!

Today, I was in the mood to write something else;
But then I thought and changed my mind and decided to share the recipe for yellow lentil chilla.

Most people assume all diet foods are not tasty, like regular foods;
We consume daily!

But that's not correct! Before I proceed to the recipe, let me tell you there are plenty of tasty foods on lists;
that are not only healthy but tasty!
Those who heed the keto diet must know;
we can burn harmful fats by consuming adequate fats!
Clarified butter comes under good fat until mixed with carbohydrates!

However, the recipe is easy to prepare and also healthy yet tasty! That's a north Indian food( Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan).
Yellow lentils are supposed to be an outstanding source of protein but with low calories;
and they are decadent in iron and folate!

As I don't have vegetables at home, I made chilla with a few ingredients, but you can add carrots, bell peppers, etc.
Then, the quantity of other ingredients will be changed and increased.
Here, I prepared three chillas with the ingredients I shared.

Now, let me proceed with the recipe:-(Serve for 1 person)

Ingredients

Quantity

Yellow Lentils100g
Ginger powder1/2 tsp(can use chopped ginger)
Kashmiri red chili powder1/2 tsp(can use chopped green chilis)
Asafoetida1/4tsp
Roasted cumin powder1/4tsp
Cilantro leaves1/2 bunch(finely chopped)
Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
Onion1 medium(finely chopped)
Egg1pc(vegetarians can avoid)
SaltTo taste
Clarified butter1tbsp


Method:-

Step 1:-
Foremost, soak yellow lentils for around 3-4 hours in plenty of water. Once lentils soak well, discard water with the help of a sieve. Make a smooth paste without adding water.

Step 2:-
Now, chop vegetables, like I chopped onion and cilantro leaves with the help of a chopper.

Step 3:-

Add all ingredients(Roasted cumin powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, ginger powder, turmeric powder, salt, chopped onion, cilantro leaves, asafoetida, and egg with the paste of yellow lentils.

Step 4:-
Mixed all ingredients well with the help of a tablespoon. Cover the bowl and rest the mixture for around 15 minutes.

Step 5:-
Pre-heat a flat pan and brush clarified butter in the pan. Now check the consistency of the batter(it shouldn't be too dense or too flimsy)!
Once the pan is well-heated, take a small rounded spoon, pour one portion of the batter, and spread it like an omelet.

Step 6:-
Lower the flame and cover the pan. After two minutes, remove the cover, and you will notice the upper portion starting to dry. Brush clarified butter in the upper portion and turn the chilla. Again, cover the pan with a lid.

Step 7:-
After two minutes, remove the lid and cook until both sides become golden. Now, the yellow lentil chilla is ready to serve;
with your favorite condiments.

I enjoyed my dinner with this chilla;
