Nobody Movie Review

Don't go beyond your limits with Bob O'Dainkerk. Given his debut in the ben stiller show and Mr. Show and his dramatic performance in Breaking Bad and his best Call Saul, O'Dorkerk's transformation into an angry old man fighting bad guys like Liam Neeson was absolutely unexpected and at the same time very convenient and wonderful.

Nobody, directed by Elijah Nicholsler and starring Odenkerk as Hatch Mansell, is a regular man who feels trapped by the monotony and routine that forms his daily life, with a nice house where he keeps forgetting to take out garbage, a beautiful wife (Connie Nielsen) who rarely sees him, and a job with his wife's family (Michael Ironside, Billy McClellan) who they don't respect, and at the same time being forced to face surprise visits from his retired father from the FBI (Christopher Lloyd).

It's a typical rural life for an unknown ordinary person, but things soon change for Hach when two robbers break into his house in the middle of the night, leading to a confrontation and a quest to recover his right.

If you think about it, you'll see that the plot of "The Gentleman Who's Over done" has given us a lot of rich films, whether serious or full of exploration from many actors, from Charles Bronson and his Death Wish series from the 1970s and 1980s to Michael Douglas's wonderful Falling Down from 1993.

In this respect, O'Dinkerk is probably one of the best actors to play this role, because of the roles he played that gave him the character of ordinary people and his shaggy appearance, viewers recognize him immediately, and ultimately lead to some real surprises where our assumptions are challenged. As john wick's directed author Derek Kolstad is set to remember the invincible killer character of Keanu Reeves, O'Dornick's performance of the lead role, and the natural presence he brings, reminds us that this film takes a different direction.

Instead, we find ourselves entering a personal mentality. The early footage depicting Hatch's daily life makes us feel connected to him, even though we don't know much about him. What makes our experience with the film productive and distinctive is that our assumptions are confirmed or challenged throughout the 90-minute film, which takes us into many unexpected events even during scenes that may become somewhat routine.

There are moments in terms of content and style reminiscent of movies The last Single starring Denzel Washington, but unlike those films, there is a touch of intelligence in Nobody because it balances sarcasm and seriousness in a way that might provoke some honest laughs in some situations without losing seriousness in terms of the real risks of the story.

The bottom line
Bob Odenkirk's role as an action hero wasn't something I expected in my life when he started this year, but it turned out to be exactly what he was missing. His role here allows the actor to play another great role in his career. Yes, it's a violent and horrible film, but it's also unexpectedly funny and moving. While you won't be able to avoid comparison with Keanu, Nobody deserves to be compared to John Wick's.
