🎻 Dear STEEM Community 🎻
Another wonderful and sunny day in Oslo. Our plans for today: Attending a rehearsal of the Einar Stray Orchestra - a fantastic Norwegian indie-pop and post-rock band from Sandvika.
🎻
We caught up with two members of the band at the University of Oslo: Einar Stray & Ofelia Østrem Ossum.
🎻
🎻
Einar Stray started recording songs in his bedroom in Sandvika, a little town located in the southwest of Oslo and uploaded them to Myspace. That was the plattform that earned him his first popularity and which gave him the chance to found a band.
🎻
First of all, I would like to introduce their music to you. The band had this fascinating mixture of a bright and light sound with a deep soul. The clip below was filmed at the Funkhaus Berlin. A really sensational venue with brilliant sound in East Berlin, Treptow-Köpenick. It used to be the house of the radio broadcasting organization for the German Democratic Republic (GDR) from 1952 until German reunification.
You can listen to the song "Last Lie" by the Einar Stray Orchestra below:
🎻
Ofelia Østrem Ossum is the Cellist of the band. She had just broken her Cello recently and had to organize a crowdfunding campaign in order to buy a new instrument. Luckily this was successful. She is such an exquisite musician.

Einar & Ofelia are usually touring in the summer. They are regular guests at the biggest festivals in Europe. Their music feels so handmade, something I miss in many music productions today. That's why I fell in love with their approach to composing and writing.
🎻
The band works a lot with improvisation and intuition. That's probably why the music expresses so much authenticity and truthfulness.
🎻
And also, just as a little side note, they are great fun. Up for nonsense, not overly serious, just brilliant people to spend an afternoon with... and admire on strage.
🎻
🎻
🎻
The Einar Stray Orchestra has published four albums. I highly recommend closing your eyes and let yourself be carried away by the sound space they create.
🎻
I would also like to draw your attention to their music videos. They are also highly original, creative, and wonderful to watch. I would love to produce a music video for Einar Stray Orchestra, to be honest. Their sound is so open to chroeography and dance.
