Introduction
First and famus I want to thank @belenguerra, @bright-obias, @obdasha1. The organizers of this contest about rare and popular crops in my area. My area is Ikom local government area, cross river state of Nigeria. The land is blessed with fertile soil which is used in cultivation of both cash crops and food crops. This will be well explain bellow.

Cash crops
Cash crops are crops that survived for a long period of time (more than a year) and there are mainly to generate income. There are not for consumption. Examples are:

• Cocoa
• palm produced
• robber
• iroko tree

1. Cocoa: this is one of the top cash crops in cross river because it generate a lot of cash to the owners and anyone who owns a large cocoa farm, makes money.

Procedure of cocoa planting

• you do nursery using the seed for 3 months
• take the nursery to the farm and the farm must be cleared some trees like Orang, mango, kola should be left and banana suckers should be closer to the planted nursery. This will help in supplying water to the cocoa during dry seasons.
• when planting your Cocoa, count 2 steps before another one, so that they will be space.
• clear the farm regularly and pump it 3 times a year to prevent pests from spoiling it.
• the end product of cocoa is burnvitta after processing.
  But it has a lot of work but very profitable.

Palm Produce
Palm tree is one of the major cash crops in Nigeria.
The reason I called it palm produce is because, it produces more than one product.

Bellow are some of the products of palm produce:

1. Palm oil
2. Palm cannel
3. Palm nuts
4. Broom
5. The Chaff is used to set fire
6. The stem which is used to construct bridge
7. The back of the nuts are use for tailings

Procedure of Planting Palm produce

• it's planted with its nuts
• make use of polliten bags to plant it
• nurse it for at least 10 months to one year
• the nursery are watered both morning and evening
• the nurseries are sold per/heads
  When you buy it, take it to your farm and plant it. Prepare care should be taken of it.
  They generation income over years.
  These cash crops are mostly planted by government and other rich people in the economy. It increases the Gross domestic product in the country.

Food Crops
Food crops are for peasant farmers in the rural areas. They are planted for consumption.
Example of food crops are:

1. Maize
2. Veritable
3. Water leave
4. Yam
5. Cocoyam
6. Pawpaw
7. Okra
   All the above crops are food crops.

How maize is planted
Maize is a food crop that matures in 3-4 month after planted.

• Maize is planted with its seed
• you open the ground and put 4 seeds in one hole.
• its always planted around match to April during the raining seasons.

How to plant yam and cocoyam

• you till the soil by making hips
• you cut he yam tubber to smaller size before planting
• plant it at the top of the hip
• it should be during farming season
• yam and cocoyam are harvested after around September and October.

Vegetable, Okra and Water leave

• this crops needs water
• they do well during raining seasons
• vegetable and okra are planted with seed.
• water leave is planted with the stem
  like wise pawpaw. Its also planted with seed.
