NIGERIA

Nigeria, is my country, that is located on the western coast of Africa. Nigeria has many geographical areas, with climates ranging from arid to humid equatorial. Nevertheless, the country most diverse feature is its people. In Nigeria, hundreds of languages are spoken in the country, which the Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba are the major languages in Nigeria. The rest of this languages are Tiv, Edo, Ibibio, Efik and English. Nigeria has so many natural resources, that boost her economy. Most of these natural resources are deposits of petroleum, natural gas, and limb stones.

Nigeria has it own national anthem that is been recided all over the state in Nigeria. For the seek of this contest i will only talk about the Nigerian National Anthem, Pledge, and Cross River state that I know best. The national Anthem is divided into 2, with national pledge.

Here is how the National anthem is sing below;

Nigerian National Anthem

• Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria's call obey
  To serve our fatherland
  With love and strength and faith
  The labour of our heroes past
  Shall never be in vain
  To serve with heart and might
  One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

• Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
  Guide our leader’s right
  Help our youth the truth to know
  In love and honesty to grow
  And living just and true
  Great lofty heights attain
  To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.

Nigerian National Pledge

I pledge to Nigeria my Country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity
And uphold her honour and glory
So help me God.

River State Anthem

Land of our birth
We pledge to thee
Our love and toil
In the years to be
When we are grown
And take our place
As men and women we raise
Cross River State our faith, our pride
Almighty God all thanks to thee
O mother land we pledge to thee
Heads, Heart and hands in years to be.

Nigeria Shield

The Nigerian shield is been symbolize in the coat of arms that is consists of black shield with white pall, symbolizing the joint of River Niger and River Benue. The black shield represents Nigeria's fertile soil. The two horses represents dignity. The eagle represents strength, also the green and white represents Nigeria's rich soil. The red flowers Costus spectbilis meaning Beauty of the nation.

The Nigerian flag has three colors which is the green, white, green.
The green stands for Natural resources, while the white is for peace and unity.

The cross River State use blue, white, blue as it flage.

Nigeria National Flower

The flower used in Nigeria as it national flower is Costus Spectabili. This flower is found in the coat of arm which I have briefly talk out it earlier.

Most of the animals you can found in Nigeria are cow, snail, dog civet etc.

Sport in Nigeria

The major sport activities in Nigeria are Football (Soccer), Boxing, Rugby, Track and Field, basketball. Also some communities has their own traditional sporting activities like the Dambe Boxing in the Northern region then local wrestling in the southern region.
