Living By Faith (Part 2)
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. -
The first part of this topic elucidates that there are many fruits that we must bear as Christians. These include love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness. faith, meekness and temperance. These fruits give people a definition of who we are, what we stand for, what we accept, and so on. However, the basis of our Christian belief is faith.
It is by faith that we accept the story of creation and the beginning of life, not as scientific experiments or philosophers describe it; it is by faith that we know that our groaning, weeping and sobriety in the place of prayer is being heard by the One who loves us, and who can attend to our requests, and we have assurance of an answer at the right time. It is also by faith that we accept God's forgiveness, His anointing, His instructions, and His laws.
By faith, we believe, and are comforted in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we believe in the way of salvation, and in the rapture. For most or all of these, there are no physical proofs or explanations, yet by faith, we hold on to them or have access to them.
By faith, we all have access to the father, through Jesus Christ, without any human intermediary. By faith, we all receive the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and of angels. By faith, we know that our present troubles are paving way for an excellent reward, which the father has promised to all that believe in His dear son, Jesus Christ. Our lives rest on faith and we are comforted on every side.
Faith is the only thing that pleases God. Every act of service devoid of faith is like throwing a treasure into the ocean. Your faith is the invitation that allows you and gives you a place in the kingdom of God.
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. -
