Pink Floyd - High Hopes ( Review )

Hi everyone! Pink Floyd is a familiar name to many of people, like a big brand in the music industry. This Band has a philosophy that it has always adhered to: "musical perfectionism", or in other words, presenting music in its purest and most thoughtful state, which requires you to dedicate all the cells of your body to music and production. Beginning in 1965 under the leadership of the genius Seyed Barrett, it shone for decades with the art and genius of David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Manson and Richard Wright, and today stands out as a great diamond in the history of world music and humanity.

The basic of the Pink Floyd style is the psychedelic rock and progressive rock, which is considered to be one of the first bands of this genre in Britain. However the band themselves believe that they are not working on a particular style and that their target was to present music in an improvised, creative and new way.

Pink Floyd became one of the most important and popular rock music in the same period of rock growth and it can be said that rock took over and evolved and mutated it. So that it really closed the case until electronic music appeared and entered the world of music in another dimension.
This band has sold over 250 million albums worldwide so far. The Dark Side of The Moon (released in 1973), one of the best selling albums in the world history, which remained on the US charts for 874 weeks (16 years!), The longest-running album in the United States. Deadline for each album in history.

The subject of Pink Floyd's lyrics has often been philosophical and dark. A Writer named Jere O'Neill Surber writes about of Pink Floyd: "Their interest is truth and illusion, life and death, time and space, causation and chance, compassion and indifference." Roger Waters personally considers "sympathy" to be the central theme of Pink Floyd's lyrics. However it can be said that there are many other themes in the works of this band that have given a lot of wide and depth to Pink Floyd's art.

" High Hopes " from The Division Bell album [ 1994 ]

Personally, the second Pink Floyd album that I like after "Dark Side Of The Moon" is The Division Bell, which I know as one of Pink Floyd's most diverse works; Although Roger Waters did not play much of a role in the production, it did indeed take time for the album, and David Gilmour and Richard Wright recorded their ultimate art. The album is the last album of the band with the late Richard Wright and it can be called as a special and detailed collection of all the great works and targets of Pink Floyd.

The song is arranged by David Gilmore and the songs are written by David Gilmore and Polly Samson. At first It was originally released as a single track and a music video was made for him, directed by Storm Thorgerson. The song begins with the sound of a church bell. Poems about the band's early days in Cambridge, Especially the days before he started his music career and also has references to Syd Barrett.

Songs tell the story of what a person gains and loses in life. Written from Gilmour's point of view. Gilmore said : "the piece is more about his early life, leaving behind his birthplace, and then about the seeds of separation that were apparently planted in the early days of Pink Floyd" .

Pink Floyd's album The Endless River (last album) released in 2014, is named after a part of the lyrics of this piece. Shortly after the song ends and the ringing fades, a secret voice is heard, including a short phone conversation between band manager Steve O'Rourke and Gilmore's adopted child (Charlie) completing the album! It is one of the most beautiful solo guitars in history and has been performed many times at Gilmore and Pink Floyd concerts.
