This wheelchair came before I became handicapped but thanks to my mother it had become a crucial part for my mobility because of my disabilitysteemCreated with Sketch.

This wheelchair was acquired by my mother through a request from our Town mayor many years ago and I never expected to be using it.

Our municipal government back then from the former Mayor of our town has some charity works and it so happens that in our barangay they had distributed wheelchairs where my mother actually requested one for me considering that I was still mobile at that time and can still walk on my own. I told my mother that it was unnecessary for me to have one but I think that my mother told me that we never know just in case that I needed one then we will have no problem in having one to use.

I never even tried it after removing the plastic over from its wheels because I hate the fact that I will ever be wheelchair-bound or using it for any purpose. Its wheels also had gotten wet the first time that the flooring of this house submerged in flood before I was able to use it a few years after.

Then around 2012 or so my bones gradually changes into what become of it right now. My breathing got so affected so much that I cannot go to church anymore because I am always having a trouble breathing with just a simple walk although I can still walk until pain subsequently became more apparent and it added more trouble about my mobility.

My difficulty in breathing in air because my backbone is already squeezing my lungs due to a side-winded backbone had made my lung capacity to go lower, now I can only let in and out about q cup of air and it is not enough if I will be mobile or walk around because definitely I will be panting like a dog with an exploding heat if I will do just like when I was out of my mind during the onset of the side-effects of Anesthesia after my arteriovenous surgery of my arm a year ago when I tried to escape the hospital, I managed to walk a good distance but my breathing is like my lungs would like to explode out from my mouth. I had posted about it already many moths ago.

Anyway, so the combination of difficulty in breathing and overall pain in my back, knees, neck, ribs, elbows, hand and feet joints forced me to rely on this wheelchair until I discovered a magic bullet that given me the best treatment for my bone issue. It prevented and is still preventing my bones to leach-out calcium and in turn given me relief so much so that I am enjoying the best state that I can do for my body particularly my bones.

I hope that I can buy another wheelchair that at least is lightweight and not like this which is really heavy because it weight around seventeen kilos. It is a heavy-duty wheelchair and my father once dropped it to its wheels which is why the rubber of the wheelchair now has a crack. I think that I can buy a lightweight wheelchair and soon maybe I can go for an electric powered or battery-powered one so that I can maybe in the future go places like malls and supermarket and just enjoy the day roaming around and seeing people and stuff.

There aren't any places here in my barangay to go to, most of the houses are enclosed with concrete walls. The river where we used to go when we were just young have no more access because the house in front of the dike before you go down to the river had made a gate leading to the that river. People here now especially those that live on the dike are inching toward to own those free spaces to make them their own private properties. So in turn, no more free river access and kids now are just ok for using their smartphones because restrictions and barriers to such once free natural spaces are not restricted.

That is why I do not want to live in this place, there are no parks and places that I can sit around for a while and enjoy the trees, flowers, the breeze of the air, and the sunlight. All that I can enjoy is this room where I had spent more than half of my life after my handicap happened. It is quite a life that I never in my scariest nightmares happened but it is now a reality and it is just a waste really because I am now just dreaming to become normal again just like a person dreaming to live in a paradise because having a normal body and a clean bill of health is a profound blessing already.
