Witnesses in the Blockchain | Contest 01 by @yakspeace

Greetings @stmpak.wit and all the stemains in the world, I'm so happy to here participating in this very contest organized by this community and @stmpak.wit on the topic “Witnesses in the blockchain". Before I share my views on this topic I want to sincerely appreciate the stempak.wit for coming up with this amazing contest.

Base on my own understanding, witnesses are set of people or steemians who are willing to contribute to the blockchain by operating the witness server that produces block,and they make use of the consensus mechanism which is called, the delegated proof of stake That is to say, they run the steem full nodes which produces the block, and they alway make sure that the network is running 24/7.

This set of people are trusted and elected by the communities to stand in as their network block producer and the govern the entire body of the steem blockchain. They contribute alot to the steemit ecosystem as a whole. If there are any experienced in the cryptocurrency software, The witnesses are expected to keep producing more steem nodes, making sure that all the nodes runs effectively without any issue.

For their work well done, this set of steemians are being rewarded with a good amount from the steemit blog. More to that, any witness that has more share and votes get the highest rewards. So for that reason, the witnesses always campaign in other to get more steemians to vote for them. But any power they get from each user depends on the steem power that user has in his or her wallet.

The witnesses actually plays a virtal rules in the steemit blockchain among which are:

• They are in charge if producing steem nodes and they always make sure that the nodes runs 24/7 without any issue.
• The witness are also expected to provide all the ongoing price feed value of the steem token into U.S dollars. That is to say they publish all the price price feed of steem and USD to the software or network.
• The witnesses are also incharge of creating block, and after creating the blocks, they add all the created block to the blockchain. Also they store all the complete data in the blockchain which includes, all the information about users transfer, comment, vote, and post.
• The witnesses also provide all the computational power which are being required to process all the action recorded on the steemit blockchain
• They witnesses controls the steem dollars printing rates in other to make sure that the steem dollars don't go down below 1dollers

It will display all the available witnesses with their rank and details.

From the above image you can see that , there are some witnesses that are not boldly written. Such witnesses are not active but the once that are boldly written are very much active.
