"Steemit Engagement Challenge, "Do You Want to Become Popular?" and am willing to invite my friends @josevas217 @gabylazarde and @eliany to please give us your views.
I have my views pretty clear on this topic since I keep my profile low unless I have something special to say. But as you said "There are people willing to be popular but very few become successful".
That's very true and I fully support that. I believe there is no shortcut to being popular unless you have a special talent. If someone is trying to be popular with false tactics, the chances are he will fall flat on their face.
🔵 Do you want to become popular or not? Justify your answer.
As a social person and living in a modern society I want to be popular and liked by others. Being popular tends to have a different meaning for me. I would definitely won't like to be popular if nobody really likes me. My popularity means that I am known as a great person in social life and workplace and everyone likes me.
I think that being “popular” only matters for the younger age group. Anyone above those especially a person in my age group shouldn’t care about being popular. Being popular is okay but it doesn't make much of a difference because no one cares if you are popular, unless they have any personal interest in your popularity.
🔵 What do you think, the way of becoming popular matters or not?
If you ask me, doing what’s right is always better than what others want. People might feel bad or disappointed if you don't play their game, but what’s right is not easy, and I would prefer to work on that. I don't want to be popular to make others happy.
I don't think popularity is permanent, as people keep changing their views about us as per their expectations and what we do to make them happy. So it is up to us whether you want to stay on your path or want to be popular at the cost of your own set rules.
I am in this world of my own talents and skill sets, and I know how to use them, so why should I change to gain cheap popularity? I would definitely design my life with honesty and work ethic and not become popular just to please others.
🔵 In your opinion, which qualities make a person popular?
If you really care to listen to my version of being popular, I would say, being funny, not arrogant, humble, confident, physically fit and attractive. Everyone loves people with a good sense of humor though, and if you are, you’ll be really popular. But then, I'm sure what works for some, definitely doesn't work for others and vice versa.
I feel there are two good qualities to become popular instantly namely humor and tolerance also, staying within reason and letting others live their own life as long as it isn’t damaging to others. If a person has values for equality, humility, humor, sarcasm, and of course knows the importance of self-deprecation. I also feel that not believing that no one is better than anyone else is another way of uplifting one's image.
Being great at cricket or hockey or any other sports works well in my country, so people with sporting capabilities are popular too. Being equally comfortable unloading a rant without fear of judgment as well. I think being good-looking makes one popular among the opposite sex but if you aren't, you can still manage if you have a good sense of humor. I feel it works pretty much in all countries and cultures.
Finally, honesty, not lying or acting up to people, straight honesty backed up by integrity is a winner. One who cares for others, besides the spirit behind our volunteerism and helping strangers, etc are some other qualities of being popular. A person who is friendly, easy-going, and has common sense is always popular.
🔵 The pros and cons of becoming popular.
Do you feel that being popular and famous makes you someone extraordinary, and if you're not popular, you are nothing? I don’t believe in this hype, simply because it's not the whole truth.
For example, I am working as a moderator here on this website, and if I make a correction within the rules, of course, I'll be bombarded. Do I need to be popular to keep everyone happy with my work ethic?
I believe being popular is easy, but it might create problems when your work is involved. Being popular sounds fun, but in reality, being popular is good up to some extent. I believe being popular has its pros and cons, with more cons than pros.
Being popular is extremely hard work. As far as being famous, it's different, but again, it needs a lot of hard work, first being famous and then remaining famous. You have got to spend a lot of your time working hard at the cost of your family life.
Yes, I want to be famous and popular, but only as long as it brings love, acceptance, and accomplishment, not hatred and distance from my family's happiness. I definitely want to be popular and famous, but I will not chase it at the cost of my work ethic or the happiness of my family. In short, for me, being famous is not my aim or goal but I would prefer to stay in the background.

Es verdad hay muchas personas que quieren ser populares y no se le puede criticar y mucho menos decir que no pueden pero tanto usted como yo preferimos vivir bajo perfil o tras bastidores esto no quiere decir que no seamos populares en nuestros trabajos con lo que hacemos.
Las ventajas y desventajas de la popularidad son muchas pero me llama la atención la desventaja en cuanto a la privacidad de una persona popular por más que quiera tener oculta parte de su intimidad estará a la vista de todos.

Thanks for your views and support. I agree with you that being popular is only a choice once a person is settled and follows all other rules and norms of the society and still keeps family first.

Being popular us actually what the young ones chase after, would I call it chasing clouts? Well you stressed that at your age getting popular is the least of your worries and you would prefer to be liked by people to have a great social life and also a host of other great things you highlighted. Importantly, you want to be popular only if it brings love, acceptance and accomplishment. Success in the challenge my dear friend.
