A selfie loving bear has appeared near Boulder, Colorado.

Local government officials learned about the baribal bear (Ursus americanus) when they checked one of the many camera traps set up in the mountains and forests around the city to monitor wildlife.

They found cougars (Puma concolor), coyotes (Canis latrans), beavers (Castor canadensis) and a variety of birds.

During the operation, the camera took 580 pictures, and about 400 of them showed the same bear.

According to the zoologists, animals usually do not notice camera traps; and when they notice, they do not pay much attention to them.

However, the bear from the vicinity of Boulder not only saw the hidden device, but also became very interested in it.

The bear actively inspected and sniffed the motion-responsive camera, resulting in hundreds of snapshots of the curious beast.

The bear is depicted from different angles, including three-quarters and with his tongue hanging out haha.

However, the scientists believe the bear did not understand that he was being photographed. Of course they might be wrong.
