We were Raised with Christ - Be Conscious of your Raised Life
It is a great privilege to bbe alive to celebrate and remember the death of our Lord Jesus Christ which was the best thing that happened to humanity. God's greatest gift ever to mankind was the gift of Jesus Christ which was wrapped with love.
In today's blog, I am glad to share with you these great mysteries that will make your heart glad. This message is to remind you that you were raised with Christ Jesus. Let's take our focal reading from the epistle to the Ephesians 2:1-7 (KJV):
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
M/Verse: 2 Cor. 5:17
Man had already fallen off God's standard because of sin as Bible records in Romans 3: 23. By this fallen state, man can no more enjoy the glory, splendor and the presence of God as was in the beginning. As a result of this, man is worthy of God’s wrath and condemnation. We should have been destroyed and trampled.
Nevertheless, God's love and mercies are much and in abundance and this He has lavished on man through the gift of Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ had poured His life for man an d drank upon himself the wrath that was due for man by talking upon himself the sins of man. Today, Christ is raised and seated exalted with God and so are all who had accepted and will accept him even now..
The truths in the above reading opens us up the following:
- Our place is in the heavenlies with Christ Jesus and this was possible by the willingness of Christ Jesus to die and empty himself for man.
- That we were quickened by the Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the death at the point we see our vulnerabilities.
- What Christ did for us makes us live not according to the ways of this world, but by what God has ordained for us.
- We now have the Spirit which helps us to obey God.
All the above were possible through Christ not of our self righteousness nor works. We have been saved by grace.
It is therefore important that as we commemorate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have to be conscious of the fact that we are raised with him to sit with Him at the right hand of the father in the heavenly places, far above ALL principalities and powers and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world, but in other worlds. This is the exalted life we attain through Christ.
It is therefore interesting to note that God has made adequate provisions for our lifting in life and eternity. He has given us entrance into the fullest life in His son, Jesus Christ. Christ’s life is the raised life. All we need to do is to believe that God sent Christ Jesus for us and in believing, we attain a raised life with Christ.
Reflections
