TOPIC: THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST
While others, including the disciples of Christ, were still sleeping, these women came to the tomb, not minding the risks involved (v.1). What lesson in serving God can we learn from them? Vs.2-4 is a record of what happened at Christ resurrection. Take note that neither the big stone nor the guards were able to hinder Him from rising from the dead and coming out of the tomb. Jesus rose from the dead just "as he said" (vs.5-7). The Angel invited the women to inspect the tomb as evidence that Christ is truly risen (v.6). The tomb was empty. Hallelujah! What is the significance of this to our faith (see 1 Corinthians 15:13-22; Romans 6:1-6)?

Because Christ has risen from the dead, we also shall rise. Because nothing could hinder Him from coming out of the tomb, nothing shall be able to hinder us from rising to eternal life.

Read vs.7-10 again. How does the instruction of the Angel and that of Christ to the women apply to us today (cf. Mark 16:15)?

What next? The resurrection of Christ is the Good News that Jesus has accomplished the work of our salvation. Share it with those who are yet to know.

Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Prayer
🙇‍♂️🙏Thank you Father, that I serve a risen and living Saviour.

Read the Bible a year: Leviticus 1-3; Hebrews 6. DAILY GUIDE

As i study Your Word, O Lord, let it be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path🙏🙇‍♂.

Text: Matthew 28:1-10

🤔Reflection:

  • What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
