1 John 2:12-14 (NIV)

I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one.
I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

This is the time we need to grow up as Christians. The kingdom is not handed to children to sons. The armies are marching but you don't see children taking to the streets dressed in military regalia and holding guns. They are already dead on arrival when that happens and the enemies strike.

A child in Christ is still the person who is struggling with sins. Who hides under the era of grace without taking the needed steps to ask for the help of God to overcome those sins. A child will always remain in this state of in and out - always going high and low in Christ. God wants to bring us to maturity and we can't forever remain a child. You shouldn't be comfortable in that child-like state every time.

If you are still in that level where you fall today and raise tomorrow, you are an easy target for the devil and that's a huge casualty that you will experience. Yes, God will forgive you every time you fall and ask Him for forgiveness but God won't hand over to you the keys of the kingdom because the kingdom is not handed over to a child to rule. God won't send a baby to the battle.

A child knows his rights. A child knows he or she is a child of God and his or her rights in God. God will fulfil all your needs for you because it is in the Fatherhood of God to provide the things you need for you. A child is always about the things he or she needs or wants to get because children always want and it is the responsibility of the Father to provide for the child.

You have to grow into sonship. A son is never about his rights but about taking responsibility. A son takes responsibility while a child fights over rights. You don't handle responsibilities to a child. You can't hand over inheritance to a child. You cannot afford to be a child in this generation. In a world where there is an open show of evil and darkness, if you don't grow from a child into a son, you will be a casualty of that fight. In this world, it is power against power and kingdom against kingdom.

A son is strong and the Word of God abides in that person. You must know your God if you want to do exploits. Whoever has the staying power is the one that will win. Those who know God would do exploit.

Like 18:1 (NIV)

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

You must be a man or woman of prayer. If you don't pray you will faint and become prey. You must give yourself to prayer. You must stay in a secret place. Jesus gave Himself to prayer and with that, He was able to do great and might things and even resisted the devil after 40 days and nights of fasting and prayer. If your strength fails you on the day of battle then your strength is little indeed.
