"Los frutos del Espíritu son perfecciones que forma en nosotros el Espíritu Santo como primicias de la gloria eterna.     En esta serie reflexionaremos sobre los frutos del Espíritu, el significado y la importancia de cada uno de ellos dentro de la vida cristiana.

Paciencia

    La palabra "paciencia" deviene del latín patientĭa, y significa fundamentalmente "capacidad de padecer o soportar algo sin alterarse" (DRAE). El cristiano que está lleno del Espíritu no anda por la vida quejándose de sus males y sufrimientos, sino que los soporta con la confianza puesta en Dios, aceptando Su perfecta Voluntad. La paciencia es un fruto del Espíritu y a la vez un atributo del amor (1 Cor 13, 4) que todo lo soporta. El que ama a Dios y al prójimo, tendrá siempre suficientes razones e inspiración para ser paciente con el prójimo y con situaciones y circunstancias poco deseables. En la paciencia del cristiano se mide cuanto ama y cuánto confía en Dios. La fe y la confianza en Cristo son como dos alas que nos elevan hacia una eternidad con Dios, es muy probable que durante el vuelo experimentemos fuertes turbulencias, más cuando eso ocurra, hay que soportar pacientes y mantenernos serenos. En este caso, activar el interruptor de la paciencia puede llegar a ser muy sencillo, simplemente hay que recordar de qué están hechas las alas, hacia dónde se dirige el vuelo, lo corto que es el viaje y quien pilota el avión.

    Que el Espíritu Santo derrame Su amor sobre nosotros para que la paciencia, atributo del amor, no nos abandone en los momentos de turbulencia.

Patience

    The word "patience" comes from the Latin patientĭa, and fundamentally means "ability to suffer or endure something without being altered" (DRAE). The Christian who is filled with the Spirit does not go through life complaining about his ills and sufferings, but endures them with trust placed in God, accepting his perfect Will. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit and at the same time an attribute of love (1 Cor 13: 4) that supports everything. He who loves God and neighbor will always have sufficient reasons and inspiration to be patient with others and with undesirable situations and circumstances. The patience of the Christian is measured by how much he loves and how much he trusts in God. Faith and trust in Christ are like two wings that lift us towards an eternity with God, it is very likely that during the flight we will experience strong turbulence, especially when that happens, we have to endure patients and keep calm. In this case, activating the patience switch can be very simple, you just have to remember what the wings are made of, where the flight is going, how short the trip is and who pilots the plane.

    May the Holy Spirit pour out his love on us so that patience, an attribute of love, does not abandon us in times of turbulence.
