THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

"Sun of Righteousness" is a song written by a group of people who (v. 2). The Son of Righteousness is referred to as the "Sun of Righteousness." In His wings, He carries healing. Isn't this what He did the first time He visited the temple? When He returns the second time, He shall reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in a blaze of glory. The Sun of Righteousness will shine brightly for His own, while the wicked shall face judgment. The unjust will be devoured by His very bright glory. There will be no Millennium unless Christ appears and cleanses the earth in preparation for the creation of His kingdom.

It will be a day of salvation in all of its full meaning for individuals whose righteousness is solely dependent on the Sun of Righteousness. The fullness of God's salvation for the believer is symbolized by the sun's radiance. For them, the "day" will be the endless day of His presence, not eternal darkness. The vicarious sacrificial atonement of the LORD's Suffering Servant will ultimately result in this "healing." We find healing, redemption, everlasting life, and serenity with God under His wings. The first and second comings of Christ will bring the passage's final and complete fulfillment. He bought our righteousness at His first arrival. "Beloved, we are now God's offspring, yet what we will become is still unknown. We know we will be like Him when He appears because we shall see Him as He is. And whoever has this hope fixed on Him cleanses himself in the same way that He is pure " (1 John 3:2-3).
