Professor @yousafharoonkhan has given his lecture about the social media and after going through his lecture and doing my own research I will now try to complete his homework task.

Introduction

In simple terms social media is a platform where individuals communicate.

And this communication can be once in a while it does not have to be everyday.
Others regard social media as a tool that they cannot do without on a daily basis.

They rely on this tool to do do everything for them and sometime are over reliant on social media.

So people shop on social media whilst others just use it to talk to people, different people have different uses for this tool.

Write the definition of Decentralized and Centralized Social Media Platforms in your own words.Explain in your own words the difference between decentralization and centralization Social Media Platforms (answer should related Social Media Platforms . Centralized social media.
As its name suggests; the affairs of this type of social media is handled by a governing body.
It is controlled by a central body.

In this type of social media, there is limitation to freedom.
The account you have created belongs to the governing body in charge.

Your entire information on the platform can be blocked at their won discretion and you cannot question them.

Examples of centralized social medias are facebook, twitter , Instagram, WhatsApp.

Decentralized social media.

As its name suggests; the affairs of this type of social media is run by the account owner.

The information of your account cannot be blocked by a anybody.

Decentralized social media is you are free to use your account as you wish because there Is no authority that will tell you what to do with the account .

An example of this type of social media is steemit.

Differences between centralized and decentralized social media.

In decentralized social media, there is no governing body whilst there is governing body in centralized social media.

In decentralized social media your account is difficult to hack whilst in centralized your account can be hacked.

Decentralized type of social media is not popular whilst centralized social media is very popular and use by many people.

In decentralized social media users can earn money from their content whilst in centralized use do not earn from their posts.

In decentralized social media since there is no governing body to restrict people the number of content farming and plagiarism is high whilst in centralized social media since there is a governing body the number of content farming is low.

In decentralized social media it is an open source platform whilst in centralized social media it is not open source

In decentralized social media the account of a user belongs to him thus it cannot be blocked but in centralized social media the account can be blocked by the central authority.

In decentralized social media you decide what you want to do with your account and the content you want to post whilst in centralized social media you are restricted as to what content you can put up on the platform.

The world is constantly adapting to changes and getting used to revolutionary ideas.

As at now centralized type of social media is what everyone is using and the number of users on the decentralized social media cannot be compared to the number of users on the centralized social media.

This may be also due to that, centralized type of social media was created before decentralized social and thus have more popularity than decentralized social media.

As the world is adapting to change many people are getting to know of the benefits associated to using the decentralized social media.

People are now realizing that their is a platform where you can actually make good content and get paid and this cannot be found on the centralized social media.

Thus the future of social media is decentralized social media as it is gaining more popularity and people are getting to know of the benefits.

Steemit social media is better than twitter and Facebook in numerous ways and below are the following.

For twitter.

On steemit users create quality post and are not restricted to the topic they want to talk about.
They make this post and then post it on their blog or on the relevant community and then after creating this quality content they are even rewarded.

On twitter before a user creates a content he has to make sure he is following all the rules because if he does not and then goes ahead and post the content, the company will remove the content.
Even after making the content you cannot earn on it.

Also since the steemit platform is block chain based your account is very difficult to hack or access by hackers to steal your funds.
Twitter is easily accessible by hackers as we hear people complain of their accounts being hacked day in and out.

For Facebook.

Facebook is very popular where I come from.
This is actually the first social media almost everyone creates in my country.

This is for no reason but because it is popular and is used by a wide range of people.
Most people after using Facebook for a while realize that Facebook limits its users to what they can and cannot do.

Steemit does not limit a user to what he can do.
Because there is no central authority.

Facebook accounts are very easy to hack.
And this can also he due to the fact that Facebook shares using information with advertising companies to make money but after sharing this information the account owners does not even get a cent from it.

But on steemit your account information is not shared and you also earn.

Steemit social media has changed lives of millions of people worldwide and I can testify even though I joined the platform not so long ago.
I have seen the benefits.

Since users have to create quality content everyday, steemit has made many users to learn better writing skills and with constant practice are now very good at writing.

Steemit have communities that attend to the needs and wants of every user thus a users feel wanted on the platform.

Steemit can be taken seriously as a job and someone can really make a leaving of steemit when he shares quality content to get votes.

Since steemit rewards its users for quality contents users want to learn new ways if doing things everyday and thus we are educating ourselves.

Users make money on steemit in numerous ways.

By making quality posts
Since joining the steemit platform I have produce content.
But after realizing that is not just about creating content but creating quality contents I have in turn gotten proper votes.

I also participate in contests which I do win steem for myself from time to time.

Participating in the crypto academy courses too is a way I earn on the platform submitting my homework task for duration.

By investing on the platform too is a good way I am earning.
Since creation I have looked to build my steempower so that I can upvote quality post and earn duration rewards too.

Doing this also helps increase your steempower and at the long run you gain money.

Communities help users on steemit know where to post their content.

Communities play an important role on the steemit platform.
A musician share his work in the music for steem community.
And thus helps users who love listening to music locate their works easily to listen to and also curate them.

The following steps will demonstrate how to create a community on steemit.

Step 1.

Click on the steemit logo at the top let corner from the logged in page.

Step 2

Then click on explore communities at the bottom left as indicated by the red shape

Step 3.

Then click on create a community as indicated by the red shape

Step 4.
In the space provided type the name of your community and what the group will be about

After filling in the details click on next to proceed

Step 5

An owner key and password is then generated, after securely saving your owner key and password, click the 'I have securely saved my owner name and password and then click create community as indicated by the red shape.
