Steemit Crypto Academy - Summary and Feedback by @majerius
Hello to everyone, it's a pleasure to write in this community outside the jurisdiction of posting an assignment task. I thank @steemitblog for this rare opportunity and also thank all the professors who mentored us on the courses in the platform. This review would have no meaning without your presence and hardwork. Thank you all, without wasting of time, let me give my review.
What works well with the Academy?
We all know that the essence if this academy is to school and lecture steemians about how the crypto world functions and how to relate with it. This helps most of us who were crypto illiterates to know a little more about crypto and practice in real life.
Doing this would necessitate well detailed courses and a specific grading system. So I'll say, what works well in the community is the courses professors give in a well explained and concise manner. And secondly, the professors grade the posts depending on your creativity, markdowns, subject depth and club5050 status.
Lastly, the community has made it obligatory for every person to power up which helps the steemian individually. That's amazing and cool to eliminate those who only want to withdraw the funds they got.
What's not working well?
As in every system, there must be little faults and in this case, i notice the following.
- Certain professors post assignment only in their languages which when translated back to English may have some differences. I'll take an example of prof @imagen's posts, when he posts, though it is well explained, we find out that the translation of the #imagen turns to #image and it can lead to misallocations.
The specifications for the beginner's course is strenuous and difficult to attain for a beginner. As we know, it's expected for everyone to power up at least 150SP within the previous month. I don't think even by completing all achievement tasks and being curated you can power up such amount. This policy should be reviewed.
Certain professors make errors in checking the club5050 status and even the post itself by sometimes giving a wrong grade and mark to the student.
Certain professors make assignments which are extremely long and which necessitate many screenshots i remember making 4days on a post with about 35 screenshots and later being given a 5/10 on that post.
Certain authors give as homework the investment of high amount of tokens sometimes worth $15 and that's pretty high. They later on reduce the amount after students complain in the comments section
How will you improve the Academy, What changes will you make for the upcoming Academy season?
Reducing the ambiguity of assignments especially when it concerns exploring a particular platform.
Reducing the amount of investments and taking into consideration the state of newbies.
Reducing the rules and regulations to perform the beginner's task and perhaps increasing the amount of beginner's course to 3. This will subsequently need more professors.
Recruit a team to help the professors in checking and proofreading assignment posts.
What do you think of the grading scheme for Academy posts? And which gifts are available?
The grading scheme for me is just okay, it touches every aspect of the post but on the part of the professors i think they can do better on the grading of assignments. By thoroughly checking assignments and giving them the grades they deserve.
What i liked best, and what I learned from the Academy.
I'll begin with the way professors interact with the students, it is so amazing. Each time they post an assignment and you have a worry, they don't hesitate in answering to your problem. That is actually very cool.
Then how well the lectures are presented, they always make mention of the rules and regulations even if they have already been made by others. Just to make sure that others don't go astray.
The members too are just so lovable, once a worry is dropped, the members try as much as possible to help and give suggestions to your worries.
Lastly the club5050 has helped me power up alot and made me grow on the platform. This has always been my goal to learn and gain at the same time.
Apart from learning about so much crypto with the different trading technisches and indicators, i also learnt how to manage time and improve on my language skills. I've also learnt about platforms likeAvalanche, Audius, Waves, Shitcoins and many others.
Does the Academy inspire you to continue learning more about crypto subjects? If so, how and where have you expanded your crypto learning
Oh yes, the academy inspires me a lot to learn and know more about crypto subjects I've expanded my knowledge on crypto by using different platforms like coinmarketcap, coingecko, trading view and Binance
These sites have been of great help and still is of great help to me.
Did the Academy inspire you to start trading in cryptocurrencies? If so, which one?
Yeah The academy has inspired me alot especially in risk taking. I now make minor trades using the steem i gain here on the Binance app. It's so fun and inspiring. I try to use all the different indicators and trade techniques where necessary.
Conclusion
The above are what i could give as my own contributions to the betterment of this amazing community. I really appreciate the opportunity given to me by the admins and i specially thank the professors for always pulling up great assignments for us. I hope next season comes in with more innovations and great tasks.
Thanks for reading through, and i hope the amendments proposed here are taken into consideration. God bless you all.

Hello, @majerius. I've been reading through feedbacks here and I'd help with something in your article.
When I was a student in the academy, knowing that Imagen's tag is prone to change by the translator, what I do is include both the real tag and the English version. For example, #imagen-s5week7 and #image-s5week7, no matter what the translator does, one of my tag fall back to the one the professor would be checking. I think you can adopt this method to put such occurrences under control. Thank you.
Thank you so much Professor. Will be doing just that. I'm grateful for your response😊 this is what I love in this community.
You are welcome.
Dear @fredquantum, I believe that in most cases we need to have an honest judgement in matters. In a system where one is expected to adhere strictly to rules and regulations, what do you expect?
I believe that the right questions should be:
Do @imagen realize that he uses translator?
Do he not recognize that there are possibility of wrong translation? What did he do to save the situation? How many students may know that the tag was translation fault?
Again, he must have been tagged in the post. Did he try to correct his students over the possible error?
The aim of a teacher is to help the student grow and not to pull them down. This is the benefit and intent of the academy. When a student follow a wrong instruction which is not his making, how should a teacher respond ? Abandon him to his doom? Please let's be honest here.
How will you possibly feel dear @Fredquantum? In this modern time when time is sacrosanct and a task which is equally strenuous and some of the task involves one spending his money, then after everything, it is thrown to the thrash bin?
Whenever we find ourselves in a place of authority, we need to judge rightly and condemned a wrong act. Place yourself in the shoe of the students and understand their pain. Thank God you mentioned that you were once a student. Let us not kill the academy with unnecessary strictness.
I personally had an issue on two occasions where my job was abandoned by @imagen. The task took me three days each to complete and at the end it was abandoned. I wrote and complained but no response from anyone. Even when I corrected the tag, he still refused to attend to the task. That is bad my friend and should not be overlooked. @imagen is a good professor, but in his attitude he suddenly forgot that the students are here for the same reason he was appointed a professor.
Hello, @mobibliss. In my response to @majerius, I have not sided anyone rather I look for a way the students can be saved in such a situation. Initially, it's not my call to even respond to the post, I don't just like to see things slide without getting a bit of solution from my end.
I stated it clearly above, help, I am only trying to offer what I can do to help in a case where tag issues arise.
Kindly do not make it sound like I sided a person, I only offer a solution for the students and nothing attached. The solution I gave above isn't the final and I do not say it's expected of everyone to follow, the team can handle the situation better. You can write that in the feedback and the team would look for a way to address the issue. Thanks.
@fedquantum, I understand bro. However, I saw this as an avenue for everyone to bring to the fore any issue of concern. I am sorry If you felt bad but your tone was sounding to me defensive and I felt uncomfortable with it.
Thank you for putting things straight.
Hello dear @mobibliss, I'm afraid you might have misunderstood @fredquantum. All he did was propose a solution which he thought could help me or any other person in the community regardless of the final decision of the whole community.
It's just normal that if a solution worked for him, he should share it to others who have the same issue. You'll bear with me that if you had this solution before the time you had the problem with your post, your post would've been graded. But since you didn't know of it, it wasn't graded. So please let's not lay blames on anyone here. It's a helping hand and not a final solution. Thank you🙏🏾
I understand bro, and I wasn't laying blames, I put the facts as they are and I don't save face. @fredquantum will understand that I have never made a comment against his post. I am not equally against @imagen, but how will he understand the situation if it was not made known to him? This is a matter affecting people and should not be overlooked. I believe that people should speak up when the need arises so that the matter could be solved once for all time.
I was affected, yes and so was others. I will rather call a spade a spade than to paint words. @imagen's pattern of solving a problem which was no students fault is bad, period!
He is a great teacher, I have learnt a lot from his class, in fact he is among the few teachers I first do the homework task.
But in this issue, he did not get it right.
I equally commend @fredquantum for trying to proffer a solution. However to solve a problem, it is best discussed. I just pointed out my reservations, I hope nobody is offended by it.
Thank you.
This is indeed of a feedback sir ..
I can’t deny the fact that I actually faced the same problem with the imagin tag..
So far from what &fredquantum explain i know what to do now.
