Crypto Academy / Season 3 / Week 4 - Homework Post for @yohan2on | Blockchain Video Games - Play and Earn Crypto

It's a great honour to be attending the academy again at this moment of the day to learn more about cryptocurrency from our seasoned professors. And this time, I've attended the lecture of professor @yohan2on where we were taught about Blockchain Video Games, it was really an interesting lecture to attend. I will be using this article to solve the task given by the professor.

The blockchain technology has enabled gamers to earn while having fun, the incentivization is made possible by what is known as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) whereby digital assets are tokenized on the blockchain to have their unique identity to the owner of the asset. An example of this is found in adventure games where users can buy a land in the game and can resell later as it has become their unique asset, another example is seen in Kitty's game which the platform known as Cryptokitties offers, where users can buy kitties, modify it and resell to make money on the blockchain later. There are other numerous examples of these NFTs in the gaming world, let's keep it at this.

Blockchain Cuties Universe is a gaming platform on the blockchain that offer users the opportunity to play different animal games and these animals are collectibles that are tokenized on the blockchain. Blockchain Cuties Universe is supports 5 different blockchains namely; ETH, MATIC, EOS, TRON and NEO, this is quite an advantage of this crypto gaming platform supporting many blockchains.

A few examples of animals available on this crypto gaming platform are; cats, puppies, lizard, bear cubs and other numerous animals (collectibles). These animals represent NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) tokenized on the blockchain such that each of them have their unique identity to the owner (game player) and it can be monetized later, and by that, a gamer earns from their gaming activities on the platform.

The native of the Blockchain Cuties universe is known to be BCUG (Blockchain Cuties Universe Governance) which is trading at the price of 1.58 USD as at the time of writing this article and sitting on the number 1327 ranking by market capitalization with 1,860,758 USD. BCUG tokens can be used to purchase assets on the platform to later monetize these assets being one's unique asset and also used to participate in governance of the platform. This is a section that shows my available cuties (collectibles) which could be cats, dogs, hedgehogs, lizard and so on, and it's dependent on the network (TRON, EOS, ETH, MATIC and NEO) selected. At this point, I haven't bought any yet so the total is zero.

The forge section has Enchant, Recycle, Repair, Crafty, and Fimbulwinter options. At this section, a game player can improve the environment and tools for the pet's advancement to give them more value to participate in available earning features. This would equip them with high chances of winning.

Marketplace on Blockchain Cuties is the list of available collectibles (dogs, cats, bears, lizards and so on). The total number of available collectibles in the marketplace is dependent on the network selected and the category of the collectibles.

I bought a Hedgehog for myself under the Tron Marketplace and it cost around 39.9 TRX. See my cutie below.

The adventure features allow gamers to send their cuties to adventures to expose them to contesting against other pets of their kind, of course, this adds to their achievement when they return from the adventure.

Now I am sending my only hedgehog cutie to the adventure.

As programmed, it returned in a few seconds and that added to its achievement. We would see that sooner.

This is the Blockchain Cuties Universe Governance feature, at this section, the native token can be staked in the liquidity pool to earn more while the assets are locked and as well, BCUG tokens allow users to participate in the governance of this crypto gaming platform. The available LP pools at the section are BCUG LP and BCUG-ETH LP.

Tournaments feature of the Blockchain Cutie is a part where running and upcoming events are displayed as a gamer can participate in tournaments to contest for rewards that comes in the form of TRX (TRON). The rewards for the last tournaments and for the upcoming one are displayed.

The Special sale features has a list of collectibles with rare features and a gamer can choose from it for the purpose of purchase, with that, gamers position themselves for more winning and earning chances because these assets with rare features tend to be more valuable than normal collectibles.

This section reveals the leaders on the gaming platform, showing their points as won from several categories, like; Top collectors, Top sellers, Top referrals, Top tribute owners, Top achievers and so on.

This section shows the achievements of a gamer as achieved from different gaming activities they have engaged in and it's further sectioned to; Special, Cutie, Breeding, Adventure and Item, where a gamer can claim any as pertained to the gaming activities he/she has participated in. In my own case, I have achieved Foe of Bears and Baby Steps from Adventure and Cutie sections respectively.

With the time I spent to engage with the Blockchain Cuties Universe gaming platform, I have seen a lot of merits and at the same time demerits, and they would be listed in this section.

I am giving a rating of 3.5/5 to this gaming platform for the moment. 1.5 for their support for up to 5 blockchains, 0.5 for the ease of use while the remaining 1.5 goes to the passive earning opportunity/participation in governance.

The lacking 1.5 rating is carried over to the future as I'd like to see an improved gaming environment for gamers to be more involved and an improved appearance of the cuties.

Blockchain has shaped the gaming sector to allow gamers earn from their activities and not play just for fun like we used to see before. Blockchain Cuties Universe is one of the crypto video gaming platforms that supports several blockchains and thereby allows wide participation of gamers in the crypto ecosystem.
