After going through the notes and researching this week's topic, I have decided to review what I have learned in my homework task.

A centralized social media platform is a platform that is governed by a central authority. This authority manages all activities on the platform, including the set of rules governing these activities. Some examples of centralized social media are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp etc

Decentralized social media platform

Decentralized social media platforms are the kind of social platforms that allow users to manage their activities on the platform. No specific rules govern the activities on the platform, and Users have complete control over their accounts. Some examples are Steemit, Mastodo etc

Which One is The Future of Social media? Decentralized or centralized Social media. (answer must be written in own words)

Even though centralized social media platforms are dominating currently, looking at how people's privacy is being looked upon and how they are being controlled will pave the way for decentralized social media to lead the future. People will get the opportunity to socialize without been fully controlled.

The many regulations governing centralized social media platforms are one of the factors which will make people switch to decentralized social media platforms in the future. The former typically restricts what the user posts on the platforms. Good contents are flagged as insensitive and hence blocked from public view. However, decentralized makes it possible for a user to post whatever they like; this will lead to the dominance of decentered social media in th future.

Most times, users on centralized social media platforms are restricted from accessing their accounts without any tangible reasons; Your account will be blocked even if people report you to the authority without any reason, but that is not the case with decentralized systems.

The last thing that will make people adopt decentralized social media platforms is that users are rewarded for both been an author and curator. Unlike centralized social media, the only rewarded people are the author who has monetize their accounts. Decentralized social media platforms like Steemit make it possible for users to gain information for posting good content and voting on other peoples' contents.

*With the above-cited reasons, people will reject the centralized social media like Facebook, Twitter and adopt the decentered social media platforms such steemit in the future.

How steemit decentralization social media is best than Twitter and Facebook. (answer must be written in own words)

Comparing a Steemit decentralized social media to centralized social media Twitter and Facebook, steemit is better than them in the following ways,

• In Facebook and Twitter, users' accounts can be blocked without any tangible reason or prior notice. The account can be blocked if people file a complaint that they do not like your content, even if the content is good. However, that is not the case with decentralized steemit; users have complete control over their accounts, making it far better than Facebook and Twitter.

• In Steemit, users are rewarded for creating original and quality content and upvoting on people's content. Every user has the potential to gain rewards. However, Facebook and Twitter rewards are limited to specific people. Those who have attained some requirements such as the number of followers and other factors.

• Steemit makes it possible for people to create good content; this has led to various posts on the platforms, and plagiarising other people's content is highly not accepted. However, that is not the case with Facebook and Twitter.

Steemit social media platform is changing people's lives; it has created an opportunity for people to make money by creating content and voting on other people's posts. It has given employment to people, especially during this period of a pandemic. During the pandemic, most people engaged massively in the contest. They took part in the diary games and other content-related posts; this has fetched them some rewards for taking care o themselves.

I can testify how steemit has changed my life; as a student, I sometimes find it challenging to get money to buy some education-related materials, but after joining steemit, I can almost take care of my basic needs. Steemit is changing lives.

Steemit has changed the lives of its users and people who are less privileged to get access to basic social amenities in our various communities. For instance, @steemghana paid a courtesy visit to one of the children's homes in Ghana and donated to them. Some of the things given out include foodstuffs, clothes, and many more.

One last thing is that steemit is changing lives by providing good content for people to learn. @healthrepublic makes it possible for people to share various health tips to boost our immune systems and find the natural remedy to several diseases.

How can we make money with Steemit's decentralized social media. (write your own experience)

In steemit, there are many ways one can make money; some of the ways are discussed below,

• Completing Achievement Tasks The newcomer's community has various achievement tasks. Newcomers have to complete in other to know the basic things steemit is all about. Completed tasks earn the user reward. I completed my achievement task, and I was rewarded with $5.73 and 3.15 TRX.

• Users can get rewards by taking part in Contests. there are numerous contest flooding steemit every day which people can take part to get rewards. Various communities usually organize these contests. The first contest I joined was organized by steemghana, in which users were required to post why they love steemit. I submitted my post, and I had fourth, which fetched me some rewards. I had both winning rewards and booming curation.

• The diary game posts also give people rewards The diary game is an ending session on steemit, where users can share their daily activities with the platform. Not all posts receive booming curation, but well-written posts get the curation of booming. I usually take part in the game when I have free time. I posted my first daily game this week, and I am waiting for booming and community support.

• People can also gain by taking part in My Town in ten pics *** This involves sharing some ten pics from our towns, communities villages, and describing what those pictures mean. This post gets community curation support.
  I am yet to do my first post, but I know some friends who have benefitted from this.

• Taking part in Steemitcrypto academy homework tasks steemit crypto academy is a chance for people to learn various things about crypto. The professor teaches every week and gives homework to be submitted within 7days. Those who get five or above are rewarded. I started taking part in season 1, and currently, I am still part of season 2. I have made a couple of rewards from my homework posts which one is shown below,

• One of the important ways to get rewards is through curation of contents

On steemit users can get rewards by voting on other people's posts. The payout of an author's bpost is split into 50-50. 50% for the author and the other 50% for the curators. The curator's reward will be shared among those who voted on that content. The amount received by each curator depends on their Steem Power, those with high steem power have a great influence on the reward, thus, they get a bigger share of the reward. It is then good for steemians to power up to have a great influence on curators' rewards.
