It is important that you know that Blockchain technology has been operating in the world for several years and that it was created with the main function of guaranteeing security and independence among its users.

The vast majority of internet technologies work through intermediaries or third parties that have control of basically all your information, precisely the "Blockchains" arrived to turn these centralized concepts around and achieve transparency in transactions through connections. decentralized.

So I can define the Blockchain as an accounting book, which is made up of block in which each block stores digital transaction information, where different data formats such as images, documents and identities are stored.

Each block is different from another and in order to distinguish them, a unique code called “Hash” is used and it is precisely the term that I took to develop my task today.

Hash is a function used by Blockchains that make use of cryptography (secret and enigmatic writings) to generate a unique key or codes which make each block differ from another, it is like a fingerprint, so to speak.

I thought it important to tell you that Hash appeared for the first time in 1961 and were created by Wesley Peterson who created the Cyclic Redundancy Check function, where its main function was precisely to verify that the data in the digital or internet system was correct.

After this came many better ones and the creation of other hashes such as MD2, RIPEMD, SHA, each one guaranteeing the necessary efficiency and security.

Hash works through the use of complex mathematical processes, which are carried out by computers that are responsible for producing a series of letters and numbers that are the components of the hash and that in turn is impossible to carry out the opposite process, for this reason it is says that these are unique and unrepeatable.

Some advantages of hashes are the following:

• Each data entry generates unique codes and no matter how similar these entries are, we will never obtain the same output.

• When performing data processing, the generation of codes are irreversible.

• When working with complex mathematical processes, they make it have a high level of security.

• They have a peculiarity that the size of the input does not matter since depending on the hash used it will generate keys of the same length but never the same.

Why do you think it is important in the blockchain?

I consider it of the utmost importance since without hashes, the Blockchain would not have that level of security that we talk about so much every day, each block is processed through the use of codes that make them unique and unrepeatable, which guarantees the reliability of the process. .

They are of vital importance in this world since they guarantee us privacy and anonymity, making the process very secure.

Do you think that the existence of the blockchain would be possible without this concept?

I don't think so, and it is that it allows you to create, order, identify and keep a block safe. Hashes are the identity card of the blocks and without an identification the chain of blocks could not exist.

Is there an alternative or similar term?

It does not exist since the hash is a unique cryptographic creation and to date there is no other term that replaces it, I could say that it is the most complex work within the blockchain.

With current technology the Hash are very safe, efficient, fast and robust and such is the case that many processes and functions depend on them, such as:

The mining, the creation of keys for Wallet and the creation of smart contracts.

But since everything in life consists of evolution, I am sure that there are already people working hard to improve them and make them more secure, guaranteeing the reliability of the system.
