Además de que el videojuego contó con la promoción de marcas grandes como por ejemplo Sony Computer Entertainment, este videojuego estaba basado en plataformas y rompecabezas de acciones y era una aventura con una perspectiva en tercera persona al igual que en assasin’s creed, pero con la diferencia de que en prince of Persia teníamos un sistema de parkour muy primitivo todavía pero que lograba destacar suficientemente bien, este videojuego puesto en un orden cronológico es el tercero de esta saga de videojuegos, específicamente de la de Sands Of Time, este videojuego es totalmente canónico, por lo que sería la culminación de una aventura que transcurrió alrededor de varios videojuegos como en battles of prince of Persia, y prince of Persia warrior within, por lo que este videojuego transcurriría luego de warrior within, en la que el príncipe regresa a su hogar en babilonia.

Este videojuego nada más comenzar estaba muy lleno de acción ya que por un momento se siente que el juego iniciará de forma cordial o de forma pacífica pero tenemos un gran cambio de perspectiva del videojuego en el momento en que vemos que la ciudad de babilonia estaba siendo atacada y asediada, por las tropas de escitas nómadas y de un gran enemigo en el videojuego llamado visir, por lo que el navío en donde viajaba el príncipe junto al personaje de kaileena es totalmente asediada y destruida en miles de pedazos por lo que naufragan pero el príncipe logra llegar a la costa con vida, pero la aventura comienza aquí ya que el príncipe ve como una tropa logra capturar a kaileena, quién ha sido secuestrada para ser llevada ante el visir y por ende deberemos intentar salvarla de ser asesinada pero no logramos evitarlo y es aquí donde la historia de este videojuego comienza a ser cada vez un poco más oscura, este suceso provoca que las arenas del tiempo vuelvan a ser liberadas ocasionando graves daños y consecuencias, y es así como la liberación de las arenas del tiempo logran corromper al príncipe de Persia despertando en él una naturaleza más oscura del príncipe se personifica y se torna en un ente llamado el príncipe oscuro.

Y es aquí donde comienza una serie de decisiones por parte del príncipe de Persia debido a los ataques de visir, en los que deberá enfrentarse a su destino y enfrentarse a él, este videojuego fue desarrollado en el año de 2005 en el mes de marzo, además fue lanzado para muchas plataformas diferentes del mercado en aquellos tiempos, como por ejemplo el ps2, el Xbox, Microsoft Windows games, gamecube entre otros por lo que en este caso podemos comparar que este videojuego no obtuvo todavía la misma aclamación de crítica por parte de los usuarios que disfrutaron de prince of Persia sand of time de 2003, este videojuego fue famoso por el hecho también de que podíamos utilizar al principe oscuro o al principe original con lo que podíamos alternar entre ambos modos, tenemos personajes también como Farah la cual nos ayudará también en la historia para poder derrotar a visir en su tiranía de apoderarse de las arenas del tiempo por completo, por lo que una guerra por las arenas comienza nuevamente.
En término de armas teníamos las dagas del tiempo y también podíamos obtener otras armas aparte de la daga de tiempo, pero estas puede combinarse con armas que encontráramos en el videojuegos, además de también teníamos la oportunidad de usar las arenas del tiempo para paralizar el tiempo o retroceder atrás en el tiempo para poder evitar morir o ser derrotados por algún jefe o enemigo un videojuego que me despierta una nostalgia enorme y es un videojuego muy famoso en los jugadores de ps2 y por supuesto fans de Ps2 entre otras consolas de la época, además de eso fue un videojuego que tuvo muchas escenas impactantes y gore, además de tener varios jefes en los que podíamos encontrar guerreros letales y poderosos, y abominaciones, todo producto de las mutaciones que provocan las arenas del tiempo, teníamos varios momentos o cinemáticas en las que veíamos escenas bastante fuertes para le época por lo que fue una gran forma de innovar en el mundo de los videojuegos con escenas más realistas y con más trama y acción al momento de que el jugador llegara a ese momento en el videojuego.
